***Job description***:
Swan is looking for an Engineering Manager to join its tech team of 70+ people. We’re seeking an **Engineering Manager** to lead, inspire, and elevate a team of engineers in delivering high-quality technical solutions. This role combines people management, process optimization, and technical alignment with organizational goals.

**Your responsabilities**:
**Team Management**:

- Manage and lead a team of **4-8 Software Engineers**, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to team members.
- Drive people management initiatives, including hiring, performance evaluation, career development, and employee retention.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.

**Technical Leadership**:

- Be accountable for your team's projects (both directly owned and collaborative efforts), make technical decisions, and solve complex challenges in a demanding technical environment with a reactive architecture.
- Partner with product managers to build and refine the team’s roadmap.
- Ensure your team follows company technical standards and architectural patterns effectively.
- Monitor system performance in your domain to maintain the quality of service despite rapidly growing loads.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards and ensure proper implementation of automated testing.

**Delivery**:

- Be responsible for successful roadmap execution, providing clear visibility and reporting for tracking progress at scale.
- Lead cross-team and cross-domain collaborations, ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders.
- Maintain **operational excellence** in production and manage incident responses effectively.

**Preferred experience**:
**You’re a great match if**:

- You have at least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer and at least 2 years of experience as a manager.
- You have strong leadership and team management skills
- You have worked in **complex environments** involving product, QA, security, and platform teams.
- You have a solid knowledge of TypeScript
- Proficiency in software development and a solid understanding of system architecture.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with coding standards, security protocols, and QA/testing processes.
- You have worked with GraphQL and Kafka.
- You are interested in functional programming.
- You have strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to align engineering goals with business priorities.
- You are fluent in English.
