**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**
Santander Consumer Banque, a unit of the Santander Group, one of Europe's largest banks, is a young and growing company that combines the dimension of a global bank with the agility of a start-up. The commercial activity of the subsidiary in France began in January 2016, initially focusing exclusively on automotive financing products with a strong ambition for development.
Under the management of the Accounting & Controlling Managing, the Financial Controller is in charge of:
1.Analyzing and validating the monthly results in order to provider the local management team a relevant reporting on the bank’s performance and the profitability of the new business.
2.Building forecasted and provisional financial statements like the yearly budget and the 3/5-year plans based on hypotheseis collected from other departments
3.Participating in the implementation of management control processes, procedures and tools.
4.Acting as a main point of contact with the Head Office and preparing all the different management control reports for the Santander Group.
**Main missions and responsibilities**:
- Analyze and follow up on the bank’s profitability in order to advise the management team (local Board of Directors) : understand the activity (consumer finance) and processes of the bank, analyze the profitability of the new business, as well as the existing portfolio, and the operating expenses
- Prepare the monthly reports to the Board of Directors related to the analytical profit and loss and the profitability of new operations.
- Prepare dashboards to follow up on the operating expenses of each department and cost center, and perform a detailed analysis of discrepencies, in order to challenge the future evolution of expenses presented in the budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare the reporting addressed to the Santander Group: analytical P&L and balance sheet, performance and risk KPIs, written analysis, variances with budget, etc
- Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and strategical plan (3/5 years), as well as all the other estimations and/or reforecasts, by gathering, consolidating, processing, analysing and challenging the assumlptions collected from other departments. This is being by maintaining a forecast model with the mindset of continuous improvement.
- Participate into the preparation of the regulatory reporting
- Actively collaborate with the accounting department in order to optimize the financial information, its integrity and consistency with the Santander Group policies.
- Participate to the preparation of the pricing committee setting the prices and remuneration of products and partnerships, preparing business plans in order to assess the target profitability of new deals.
Risk management is part of our corporate culture, understanding and managing the risks inherent in your role.
**Required competencies**
- Master of science in the field of business finance or economy
- 5 to 10 years experience of which 5 years in a controlling role
- Accounting qualification would be a plus
- Mastery of EXCEL, complex formulas, pivot tables, VBA
- Good knowledge of Powerpoint, Word
- Business Object, Qlickview and Cassiopae would be a plus
- Controlling
- Synthetical and analytical mindset
- Knowledge of consumer finance is a plus
- Accounting and banking knowledge within a regulatory environement
- English is compulsory, Aspiration to learn French quickly, Spanish is a plus
