The job:
Your main tasks will consist of:

- Safety:

- You set safety as an absolute priority: ensure best practices and create a safe and clean work environment. Active participation in the safety committees and site-related safety events.
- People management:

- You supervise a team of min 5 R&D engineers and technicians: set priorities for the team, allocate resources and tasks, provide technical guidance, develop team competences, personal objectives, and talent development.
- Innovation management:

- Lead the regional H&B Innovation pipeline that has a diverse portfolio of R&D projects including technical support, incremental and growth projects as well as capability building. Set goals, timing and allocate resources.
- Define new opportunities in line with Oleon’s H&B Innovation strategy and have these entering the pipeline. To be able to identify the right opportunities, you closely follow market trends and have an in depth understanding of customer unmet needs.
- Are responsible for the regional H&B R&D activities and you work with stakeholders from various departments across the different Oleon sites. In this regard, you will closely cooperate with H&B business manager and Corporate Strategic Account Mangers.
- Technical expert:

- Act as an internal and external ambassador by supporting innovation, quality, health, safety & environmental aspects within your team, with your colleagues and during conferences and fairs
- Close collaboration with Marketing & Sales team, assist in development of marketing materials, give strategic and technical support, develop customer intimacy relationship. Review technical statements and claim substantiation documents.
- Conduct research and literature study. Conduct FTO studies. You are an active contributor to grow Oleon’s patent portfolio.
- Edit and/or revise technical documentations and share results to the different stakeholders

Whom are we looking for ?
- An engineer in chemistry or a related disciple. PhD-level is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the cosmetic and personal care industry.
- Experience in managing people
- Strong technical expertise in cosmetic and personal care formulations and product development for skin, sun, hair care and cosmetics.
- Knowledge of chemistries, biotechnology, extracts and actives.
- Creativity, organization and leadership
- Fluent in English & French
- Team spirit
