The Job We are looking for a R&D Formulation & Application Engineer to further strengthen our R&D department. Some of your main duties & responsibilities: - Optimization of product understanding in cosmetic formulations - Managing various R&D projects (objectives, technical work plan) aimed at the discovery of new cosmetic ingredients - Conducting scientific research and literature reviews - Knowledge of sensorial evaluation - Expertise in rheometry - Participating in conferences and trade shows - Providing technical support for the Marketing & Sales department and helping to develop relationships with clients. - Developing technical skills (raw materials, formulation, sensory evaluation) to maintain and support the scientific excellence of the Formulation Poles - Expertise in formulation, all types of products - Creating and developing innovative formulations that meet consumer and market trends Project Management: - Defining and implementing new projects in line with market/client demands - Participating in global R&D activities for the cosmetics market across different sites (France, Belgium, Malaysia) - Writing various technical documents (reports, presentations, patent declarations) and presenting results to different stakeholders - Evaluates and oversees closure of projects, identifies and analyzes lessons learnt and ensures the project file is completed, technical documentation is developed, updated and made available for all parties involved and training is given to stakeholders. Other: - Contributing to workplace safety - Participating in the daily life of the laboratory and maintaining the equipment in charge - Knows the health, safety, environment & housekeeping procedures and rules, operates in accordance with them, alerts risks, participates to risk analyses, takes corrective actions regarding the own work environment and stimulates safe behavior of colleagues and third parties Who are we looking for? You'll succeed if: - A minimum of a master's degree in chemistry related field such as material science, pharmacy, engineering, biochemistry & etc with a specialization in formulation - You have at least 10 years of experience as an R&D engineer in the cosmetics industry, preferably with an ingredient supplier - Strong expertise in oleo-chemistry and cosmetic polymers/film formers - Knowledge of physico-chemical analysis, texture analysis, microscope, ingredients stability, oxidation tests - Experience in formulation of finished products and innovative textures will be a plus - Creative and organized, recognized for your team spirit - Professional level of English, both written and spoken - Next to your skills, it is your drive and motivation that will make all the difference_ What's in it for you?
