**Working in Southern European Origination (T&O)**

As part of the Trading & Origination department, the Southern European Origination team concludes non-standard, structured and often complex transactions in wholesale energy markets in Spain, Portugal, France and Italy. Thereby, it cooperates closely with Statkraft’s trading desks and the other regional Origination teams to offer pan-European tailored energy solutions. The responsibilities within Southern European Origination are divided into Origination Iberia, Origination Italy and France as well as a central Portfolio Management function based in Düsseldorf. While the Origination teams focus on originating, structuring and negotiating value enhancing new transactions, the Portfolio Management provides the analysis, structuring and pricing platform to all non-standard commodity contracts and manages the entire portfolio exposure in the market across the curve until delivery. Thereby, Origination and Portfolio Management closely collaborate on a “one team - one PnL” philosophy per market.

Statkraft Southern European Origination has been a first mover on long-term PPAs in Spain and a leader in unsubsidized PPAs with more than 40 wind and solar PPAs contracted. In addition, the portfolio consists of tailor-made long-term agreements with IPPs/generators and large end customers as well as other non-standard flexible and structured wholesale products.

Southern European Origination holds a large route-to-market renewables portfolio in France and with its French Origination team has been developing attractive near-term, fixed-price solutions to renewable power producers. Origination France is planning to further expand into long term PPA solutions, look for efficient hedges, and is open for other business propositions.

**Job Description**:
**Your role**:
You will report to the Head of French and Italian Origination, be based in Statkraft’s Paris office and work within a team of skilled originators. The key aspects of the role are the end-to-end origination for France as well as business development.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Identify, develop, negotiate and execute structured energy transactions with embedded optionality in the French markets with a focus on renewable PPAs
- Contribute to the scaling up of the portfolio of other non-standard power, multi-commodity and guarantees of origin (GoO) contracts in the French market
- Contribute to the knowledge build-up of market fundamentals/understanding of power and GoOs in France
- Develop and maintain relationships with large buyers of electricity such as industrials, corporates, suppliers/retailers
- Develop and maintain relationships with upstream generators, IPPs, project developers, investors, banks, utilities and merchant traders
- Work closely with the other Origination and Portfolio Management team members for new deal origination, structuring and pricing in order to grow and optimize the portfolio
- Manage entire deal approval process with internal stakeholders and take full front-to-end ownership of implementation of new deals and products and contract management over the lifetime Strategy, Vision and Mission

**Qualifications**:
**Your profile**:

- University degree in economics, engineering, business, or similar is required
- At least 3 years of professional work experience in energy markets, preferably previous commercial (front office) experience in the French power market
- Experience and familiarity with non-standard power contract terms, ideally with long-term renewable off take agreements / PPAs and master trade agreements, such as EFET, ISDA
- Strong understanding of and view on European power market fundamentals, interconnections, generation assets, market players and market regulations
- Strong team player able to co-operate with members from internal support desks (Operations, Risk, Legal, other Front Office desks) to head the deal lifecycle from initiation to execution
- Strong commercial mind-set and high level of initiative and motivation
- Fluent in French and excellent communication skills in English
