User Experience Design Specialist

**ROLE DESCRIPTION**

Responsible for UI delivery outcomes of assigned sub projects, works independently within given area of responsibility (within defined policies and processes), contributes to milestones

Field Research:

- Supports collection of user data in the field, analyzing gathered data and writing research reports.
- Supports conversion of user data into task flows and basic use cases for a given product area (e.g. FIN, MFG, HCM)
- Supports the analysis of user data and writing research reports.
- Supports presentations and communication to stakeholders

Lab User Research:

- Supports collection of formative and record summative data. Supports usability studies that test UI standard building blocks and pattern concepts independent of specific product domains. Supports preparation, presentation and communication to stakeholders
- Standards for Methods and Tools
- Able to Develop and Design UI proposals with UX Tools (e.g., Visio, Fireworks ) to solve UI issues of moderate level of complexity.
- Able to explain all UX best practice processes and tools to others, and coach their use
- Able to review and to edit test participants profiles, test scripts, use cases, and UI validation documents.
- Interaction Design

SAP Products & Domains
- Defines roles and use cases for a given domain.
- Creates and validates use cases in a given domain area
- Produces specifications describing user requirements and internal structures for product in development.
- Interaction design
- Transfers of use cases into complete UI designs for products that require free style UI’s or with moderate complexity.
- Designs unique interaction models for the data being presented in an independent manner or with less direction
- Produces specifications describing user requirements for product in development.
- Creates high fidelity prototypes of sufficient completeness that they can be used for usability testing with formative testing methods.

UI Concepts & Guidelines
- Creates product line specific guidelines.
- Develops proposals for UI patterns and building blocks to solve detailed interaction problems. These proposals should be capable of becoming SAP UI guidelines.
- Assists in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations
- Reviews UIs according to the guidelines and Product Standard Usability

UI Tools and Technologies
- Designs interactive UI prototypes of moderate complex level that can be used to test user preference and behavior.

Visual Design
- Supports the identification of actions, objects, status information and UI properties (e.g. Icons)
