Mission:MAS Seeds, with a turnover of 198 million euros and 877 employees, selects, produces and markets its seeds of maize, sunflower, rapeseed, alfalfa and various other species. - The sunflower Trait Discovery Scientist contribute to reach MAS Seeds business ambitions through the discovery of new genes linked to traits of interest and improved processes and methodologies, in collaboration with an international multidisciplinary team including breeders and experts in genetics, bioanalysis and statistics.
**You will**
- Initiate, manage and execute trait discovery projects, in terms of project plan, budget and schedule, from new population initiation to hand over “superdonor” sources.
- Lead projects with structured & innovative approaches in a multidisciplinary environment to deliver new genes for breeding and conversion programs
- Identify and propose external collaborations with global experts to accelerate trait discovery and tool development
- Contribute to design trait development strategy, develop intellectual property and maintain knowledges about the competitive environment to protect our innovations
- Participate in the achievement of high standards in terms of safety, biosecurity and environmental responsibility.
Profil:Master or PhD specialized in genetics and quantitative genetics, you master molecular biology, genotyping and statistics applied to biology. You have knowledges of plant breeding, bioinformatics and plant physiology.
Your experience in managing research projects, from definition to implementation (organization, operational planning, budget, results analysis) is essential to fulfill your role.
You are rigorous, organized and involved. You have a strong analytical capacity and know how to be proactive.
Good communicant and with very good organizational skills, you will be able to federate and coordinate your project teams in order to carry out your missions.
Finally, your adaptibility allows you to work in matrix, intercultural and multi-location environments. You will have to travel in France and Europe or even internationally.
