Deputy Editor, French File

We're looking for a new Deputy Editor for our French File.

On a day-to-day basis, the deputy editor, French file, will be responsible for making sure that the file we deliver in French is of the highest possible quality, meets Reuters’ standards, and corresponds to the needs of our clients; both media clients and financial professionals. The deputy editor will make editorial choices about what stories we cover, and how we cover them.

They will be involved in commissioning stories. They will work in close collaboration with the Paris Bureau Chief/Deputy Bureau Chief, the Breaking News Editor, France & Benelux and with the leaders of our initiative reporting teams, as well as with the team in Gdansk.

The deputy editor will also be responsible, in collaboration with sales specialists, for gaining a better understanding of what clients want from our file in French - both now, and in the future - and adapting the file over time to meet those demands. The role does not have direct reports and will report to the Breaking News Editor, France & Benelux.
