Our VIP client is looking for an experimented **House Manager** to work in his property based in **Paris, 7th arrondissement**.
Energetic professional who doesn't mind wearing multiple hats. Experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and household support related tasks and able to work independently with little or no supervision.
Well organized, flexible and enjoys the challenges of supporting a busy household of family and staff.
The starting date is as soon as possible for this full time and permanent position.
**Responsibilities**:
- Oversee the development of the property, including the building, gardens, and grounds.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors.
- Handle administrative duties, including bills, expenses, budgets, staff scheduling, etc.
- Work closely with existing travel staff and overseas team.
- Create inventories, cleaning schedules/procedures, guidelines, and operation/maintenance manuals.
- Recruit and train new staff (housekeepers, helpers, on-call staff).
- Make appointments for personal and professional needs.
- Supervise the effective operation of the property.
- Ensure full transparency of operations to the employer and their representatives through regular reporting, continuous monitoring, and regular briefings.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the property, including maintenance and upkeep, vendor engagement (plumbers, electricians, florists, carpet cleaners, etc.), and expenses.
- Identify maintenance and repair issues.
- Be accountable for the cleanliness, care of special finishes, and tidiness of the property, ensuring all cleaning tasks are completed within a reasonable time frame and to the highest possible standards.
- Ensure all rooms are cared for, inspected, and presented according to standards.
- Take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of the property.
- Provide day-to-day management of the property to maintain the highest standards and efficiency.
- Work closely with and fully support the principal’s and guests’ traveling staff.
- Maintain regular communication with head office and head valet to ensure up-to-date standards and routines for principals and guests.
**Requirements**:
- M/F.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position.
- Experience in a luxury environment.
- High level of service and etiquette.
- Fluent in English and French.
- Motivated, driven, and dynamic with a passion for perfection.
- Very discreet and trustworthy.
- Able to manage priorities effectively.
- Strong eye for detail.
- Capable of multitasking.
- Flexible and reactive.
- Valid driving license.
- Stress-resistant.
- Must be comfortable with dogs (1 friendly dog).
- Strong “can-do” attitude and ability to think outside the box.
- Familiar with French culture, procedures, and labor laws.
- Good knowledge of Paris (groceries, restaurants, shopping).
- Ability to understand and anticipate the client’s preferences.
- Proven ability to consistently deliver results with mínimal supervision.
- Flexible availability, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and major holidays.
- 24/7 availability when the client or guests are in residence; time off provided when the client is away.
Work conditions
- Position : House Manager.
- Start date: As soon as possible.
- Location: Paris, 7th.
- Employment contract: Permanent and full time contract, 40h a week, flexibility during weekends.
- Salary : 80 000 € gross annual.
