Role overview :
As an Overall Loads Analysis Intern, you will contribute to the modelling and evaluation of global loads acting on a two‑stage rocket throughout its flight. The goal is to develop analytical and numerical tools to estimate the structural loads required to dimension the primary structures of our launchers (fairing, inter‑stage skirts, aeroshapes, etc.), and to ensure their integrity over the mission.
Your key responsibilities :
- Conduct a bibliographic study / state of the art of methods for calculating global loads on launchers; synthesize analytical and numerical approaches existing in the literature.
- Develop analytical models under Matlab to estimate longitudinal and transverse loads, as well as overall moments, from mission data (trajectory, thrust, masses, aerodynamic tables).
- Implement the models on a real launcher configuration and compare results with available trajectory or aerodynamic data.
- Use a finite element analysis (FEA) tool (SAMCEF) to build a simplified model of the launcher under the computed loads and assess hyperstatic effects.
- Write and complete the internship report summarizing methods, results, and recommendations.

Who we are looking for:
Student in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field — a background allowing use of analytical modelling and FEA tools.
- Solid knowledge of mechanics of structures, load analysis, aerodynamics / flight environments (at least basic understanding).
- Proficiency in Matlab (or equivalent scientific programming environment) for analytical modelling.
- Familiarity or ability to learn an FEA tool such as SAMCEF (or equivalent).
- Interest in structural analysis and aerospace environments.
- Autonomous and proactive mindset — test & learn
