We are currently recruiting a
Principal Network Security Advisor
to support
Sonepar
, one of the global leaders in electrical distribution, in the reinforcement of its Group-level cybersecurity capabilities.

Context

Sonepar is a family-owned, international group operating in more than 40 countries, engaged in a large-scale digital and cloud transformation. Within this context, network security plays a critical role in supporting business growth, securing connectivity across entities, and enabling a Zero Trust strategy at scale.

This position is a
senior, group-level expert role
, acting as a trusted advisor to the Group and its Operating Companies.

The role

As Principal Network Security Advisor, you will serve as one of the highest-level subject matter experts for network security across the Sonepar Group.

Your mission is to
define, structure and guide the network security strategy
, ensuring consistency, resilience and scalability across on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments. You will work in close collaboration with security, cloud and architecture teams, while maintaining a strong advisory posture rather than an operational one.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the Group reference for
    network security architecture, strategy and best practices
    .
  • Define and maintain
    reference architectures, standards and design principles
    covering firewalls, segmentation, secure connectivity and cloud edge security.
  • Shape and drive the
    multi-year network security roadmap
    , aligned with enterprise architecture, cloud modernization and Zero Trust objectives.
  • Provide architectural guidance on initiatives such as
    SD-WAN, SASE, ZTNA, micro-segmentation and secure edge
    .
  • Review and challenge network security designs related to applications, cloud migrations, M&A integrations and third-party connectivity.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of foundational security controls across regions and Operating Companies.
  • Contribute to the evolution of defensive controls in collaboration with SOC, Threat Intelligence and Incident Response teams.
  • Produce clear documentation, reusable patterns and guidance to scale security practices across the Group.
  • Act as a
    technical mentor and advisor
    to architects, engineers and security teams.

Profile

  • 12–15+ years of experience
    in network security architecture, engineering or advisory roles, within complex and international environments.
  • Strong expertise in
    enterprise network security
    , including firewalls, segmentation, secure access and hybrid connectivity.
  • Solid understanding of
    Zero Trust Network Architecture
    and identity-centric access models.
  • Experience designing architectures across
    data center, cloud and hybrid
    environments.
  • Ability to influence, challenge and guide teams
    without direct hierarchical authority
    .
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced security certifications (e.g.
    CISSP, CISM
    ) are highly valued.
