Senior / Lead Electrical Engineer – Paris, France
Start Date: September 2025
Duration: 6 months (renewable – potential for long-term project)
Rates: Candidates will work of a daily rate
We are seeking an experienced Senior / Lead Electrical Engineer to support a major international project in Paris. This is a senior discipline leadership role, responsible for overseeing electrical engineering activities, managing project deliverables, and ensuring coordination across all disciplines.
This is a freelance daily-rate contract (8 hours/day). Candidates do not need to be based in France but must be available to mobilise quickly.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the Lead Electrical Engineer for the project, reporting to the Project Manager.Prepare all required documentation and deliverables in line with project scope.Supervise and organize the work of other electrical engineers.Plan, track, and report on project progress.Organize and lead meetings with both internal teams and external stakeholders.Ensure seamless coordination with other engineering disciplines.Deliverables & Scope of Work
Electrical design basis and philosophies (Black start, Control, Earthing, etc.).Specifications, datasheets, and requisitions for:Generators, transformers, HV & LV switchgears, motors, VSDs, UPS (AC/DC).HV & LV power/control cables and electrical control systems.Consumer list, power balance, and equipment sizing calculations.Electrical system studies (Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor Starting) using ETAP.Single Line Diagrams, protection diagrams, and cable routing/earthing layouts.Electrical building/substation designs, cable lists, and I/O lists.Candidate Profile
Experience: 10+ years as a Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer on large-scale projects (Oil & Gas or similar industries).Language: Fluent English (written & verbal). French language skills are an advantage.Knowledge: Strong understanding of international standards (IEC, NFC15-100, NFC13-200), ATEX & IECEx compliance.Software: Skilled in ETAP Power System Analysis (essential).Type: Freelance consultant (own company preferred).
