Drilling Operator
Requirements:

  • Correctly operate assigned drilling machines and equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, performing pre-operational checks in accordance with company procedures and project specifications, while ensuring the required quality standards.
  • Comply with safety procedures on construction sites.
  • Ensure work execution meets the project's technical specifications.
  • Set up and operate assigned equipment efficiently to minimize wear and downtime while ensuring required productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Report any QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) violations to the supervisor.
  • Guarantee safe operation and productivity of the machinery.
  • Prepare daily reports on machine productivity.
  • Manage and maintain all assigned equipment.
  • Support the supervisor in departmental activities.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding of onboard instrumentation functions and ability to cross-check with direct methods (depth, rotation, etc.).
  • Familiarity with the Method Statement, project quality standards, and competence in completing quality control forms.
  • Ability to assess drilling quality and drilling mud, and to inspect extracted material at the borehole mouth.
  • Skill in equipment placement (layout, direction, machine stability, use of steel plates).
  • Ability to evaluate the most suitable drilling technique and tool for specific conditions.
  • Expertise in selecting appropriate pressures, thrust, and torque, as well as adjusting rotation and descent speeds.
  • Proficiency in casing operations.
