Hiring: Data Centre Engineer (Rack & Stack, Fiber/Copper Cabling) in Paris, France for a contract role lasting 6 weeks to 4 months.
We are seeking a hands-on Data Centre L1 Engineer to support physical infrastructure operations in our Paris data centre. This role is ideal for individuals experienced in rack & stack, fiber/copper structured cabling, and on-site IT hardware support.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform rack & stack of servers, network devices, and storage systems
Execute structured cabling (fiber & copper): installation, labeling, testing, troubleshooting
Maintain documentation (cable maps, port assignments, hardware inventory)
Assist with MACs – moves, adds, changes
Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow)
Support remote hands requests
Follow SOPs and data centre safety protocols
Ensure cleanliness and organization of data centre spaces
Required Qualifications:
2–4 years of experience in a data centre or IT infrastructure role
Proven rack & stack experience
Hands-on expertise with Cat5e/6, LC/SC fiber
Knowledge of cable management & labeling standards
Basic understanding of networking/server hardware
Ability to lift/move equipment up to 50 lbs
Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
Willingness to work shifts (nights/weekends when required)
