What you'll do:
- Serve as a technical leader and role model, shaping technical direction across multiple engineering teams.
- Architect scalable, reliable, and secure platforms, ensuring maintainable and high-performance systems.
- Lead initiatives that span teams and domains, identifying leverage points that unlock organizational productivity.
- Own technical decisions for complex projects, balancing pragmatism with long-term excellence.
- Drive data-driven decision making and proactively remove delivery blockers.
- Champion DevOps principles, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD best practices.
- Mentor senior engineers, fostering a culture of technical mastery, openness, and continuous learning.
- Collaborate across engineering, product, and scientific teams to align priorities and outcomes.
- Represent engineering in strategic discussions with leadership and external partners.
Requirements
- Deep experience in software engineering, with a proven record of leading complex technical initiatives.
- Strong background in JavaScript / TypeScript with on the backend and React or similar on the frontend.
- Expertise in cloud-native systems, microservice architectures, and API design.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, observability, and cloud security best practices.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A growth mindset, curiosity, and passion for learning and innovation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
