About the Villa

The property is located in the South of France, in Saint jean Cap Ferrat.

There are 2 Villas on the property of approximatively 600m2 and 180 m2.

These two villas are used as a holiday home, they are mainly used during the holiday periods and during the summer season. When the owners come over in the SOF, they usually ask the Couple who also works for them in the main home to come and help/assist you.

There is an existing team in Saint jean Cap Ferrat which includes a Housekeeper, two gardeners and one security guard all week long.

There are also external subcontractors who come every week to do some work on the exteriors.

This is a LIVE IN position. The accommodation will be rented especially for you. It will be an apartment located outside the property.

The project

We are looking for a Couple such as a Handyman/Caretaker/Driver & a Head Housekeeper/Cook ready to join beginning December 2025.

Since this is a LIVE-IN position, you will have a dedicated house of 90m2, the accomodation is on the property but there is a private entrance and a private road access and gate. In the provided accommodation, there are two bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, an independent living room, a kitchenette with equipment and another lounge covered by a veranda. You also have a little terrasse with a barbecue area and a small piece of garden.

The owner of the property lives in the Villa all year round and is willing to find a Couple ready to commit on a long term basis. The previous Couple worked for the family for more than 20 years.

As the Handyman/Caretaker and Driver, you would be in charge of:

Car maintenance (for all the vehicles): checking the fuel - cleaning the interior & exteriors - cross-checking the copy book - checking tyre pressure and safety. You will have a vehicle at your disposal for all the needs of the property.

Chauffering / Driving on demand: you will need to collect the owners from the airport for instance and possibly drive them to their appointments, to go to the chemist, to shops, etc.

Exterior: Maintenance of the gardens and exterior areas: (ont op of the exterior gardening supplier)

• grass cutting, maintaining bushes highs, weeding jobs, combing and sweeping jobs, etc.
• ensuring there are no leaves or weeds on the pathways going through the garden,
• no mud on the terraces;
• checking the water pipes (good state, proper irrigation of the plants and flowers, no leaks, etc). You will have all the necessary tools to do so - electrical and manual tools.
• Maintenance of the 3 pools
• There are several terraces and exteriors parts around the house and you need to make sure that each area is always taken care of, cleaned and well maintained, especially the pool-house and the outdoor kitchen.
• You will also need to take care of the exterior furniture, bringing it in and out depending on the weather and the seasons.

Security: You will need to be monitoring the existing security system, therefore, we are looking for a candidate who is comfortable with domotic electronic systems. On top of the security guard, you will also be checking that all the exits are secured; Checking for damages done by wild animals to the fences; Securing the different accesses to the property.

Small Technical interior jobs: Ensuring the paint-work is maintained, the doors, bulbs, plumbing minor-toilets/sinks, AC-heating & cooling are in good condition.

Assisting your team with all the handy jobs that need to be done, this position requires first of all someone with great sense of service.

General Technical Surveillance:

• you will keep an eye on all the equipments and possible eventual dysfunction.
• Welcoming external subcontractors and making sure that they do not damage anything, etc.

Please Note: There are external subcontractors coming every week to professionally tend the garden. The big repairs on the property are under warranty, so they do not need to be interfered with.

Dog: You must be pet friendly since there is a big dog on the property.

You will have to feed the dog, you will have to bring him to the Vet, you will have to mind him in case the owner is not in the Villa which is quite rare though.

HEAD HOUSEKEEPER / COOK POSITION:

Housekeeping:

• You will be in-charge of vacuuming/cleaning floors, carpets, surfaces, etc.
• You will be in-charge of making the beds, changing linens, setting up the bedrooms and bathrooms, etc
• You will be in-charge of cleaning/sanitizing bathrooms, showers, toilets, sinks, and countertops
• You will be in-charge of replenishes toiletries, towels, supplies, etc
• Ensuring the main areas as corridors, living rooms are always dusted, tidy and well organized in accordance to the owner's habits.
• in charge of contacting (liaising with) the dry cleaners for all the owner's clothes which need specific treatment and ask them to come and collect them.

Laundry: Cleaning the bedsheets, towels, other household linens and clothes of the owners. Noble/Designer materials and clothes can go to the dry cleaners.

Service: When the owners come to the Villa, you will be in charge of cleaning and setting up the dinner table, serving the food and beverages to the owners and their guests.

Cooking: You will in charge of preparing Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner during the owners' visits. You will cook familial style traditional French cuisine and Mediterranean cuisine. If case of any events, the family will decide to hire a Chef to respond to hire needs and demands.

General Tasks:

• in charge of checking on the stocks of all the cleanings products and maintaining them
• doing the groceries and making sure that stocks are maintained

Desired Profile

• You must be very autonomous and able to report and respect your hierarchy at the same time.
• We are looking for someone who is passionate about service and likes to work in private households.
• Previous experience as a housekeeper or as a Housekeeper and as a Handyman/Caretaker is MANDATORY.
• You have experience and knowledge of traditional French family-style cuisine and basic Mediterranean cuisine.
• You have decent knowledge of Handyman related tasks - basic property maintenance, security, plumbing, electrical, etc.
• You are NOT allergic to dogs, you are animal friendly as there are animals on the property
• You are a multitasking person and flexible, able to follow the processes that are already implemented and able to be reactive when facing something unusual.
• You are hard working, highly organised & takes pride in your work
• You have a strong sense of service and you are passionate about your job
• You are extremely dynamic and you work well with your partner
• You have good communication skills and human relationships come with an ease
• Good self-motivation, highly flexible and pro-active
• Team player with a great sense of fun
• Ability to plan, organize and deliver a service to a high standard
• You are a smiling and positive person, you respect confidentiality and you are trust-worthy and discreet. You have a positive attitude generally speaking and you have a great sense of human relationship.
• You are organized and you know how to prioritize your tasks during the day, you equally know how to balance different rhythms, especially winter/autumn compared to summer season and especially when the Villa is occupied/unoccupied.
• You are always on time and present well, you make sure that your appearance is always clean and professional
• You MUST speak French fluently. English is a plus.
• You MUST have a driving license.
• You will have access to the car on the property, when you will need to go run errands, go to the supermarkets, etc.
• You DO NOT HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD, you are honest and trustworthy.

Salary: TBD - depending on experience and profile
