Edge AI Application Intern

Job Overview
Contribute to improving the developer experience for deploying AI applications efficiently on Arm-based edge platforms within Arm's Edge AI Business Unit

Collaborate with experienced engineers and product teams to prototype, evaluate, and document workflows that help developers make the most of Arm's ML and IoT ecosystem.

Focus on understanding the end-to-end AI development workflow — from model selection and training to deployment and performance optimization — ensuring that Arm's technologies are easy to use and effective for real-world AI use cases.

What could you be doing as an Edge AI Application Intern?

• Explore different AI models suited for edge use cases and evaluate their trade-offs in terms of accuracy, latency, and efficiency.
• Train and fine-tune models to improve accuracy and adapt them to embedded targets.
• Deploy and test models on Arm-based development platforms using ML inference engines such as TensorFlow Lite or ExecuTorch.
• Collect and analyze performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities and feed data back into the training loop.
• Work closely with engineers across software, tools, and hardware to understand how all components come together in a complete edge AI solution.

*We are looking for individuals who:*

• Are currently enrolled and studying towards a Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Candidates with alternative degrees will also be considered if they have relevant experience.
• Are familiar with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or ExecuTorch.
• Have a basic understanding of AI model training and evaluation workflows.
• Possess programming skills in Python (and ideally C/C++ for embedded work).

Arm Internships require you to be enrolled in a higher education degree.

French Law requires students to complete an internship agreement (Convention de Stage). This is a tripartite agreement signed by the student, their home university and host organization, that facilitates an internship in France. It is the contract defining all the essential points of the internship: duration, missions, remuneration and benefits, insurance in the event of an accident, etc.

It is preferable that Arm's own template of the agreement is used. Successful applicants will be required to provide contact details of the appropriate university representatives in order to have the agreement signed.
