About Syroco Onwatch

Syroco is a Marseille-based tech startup dedicated to the maritime energy transition. The
Onwatch
team continuously supports a fleet of commercial vessels using the Syroco Live voyage optimisation application, providing navigation recommendations, weather alerts, and personalised tracking during each crossing.

We communicate daily with captains to help them make the best decisions on board. Our goal: improve safety, reduce vessel fuel consumption and emissions, and simplify life for crews.

The mission

A daily operational mission

You will join the Onwatch team and fully participate in the life of the service

  • Preparation and sending of departure briefings
  • Fleet monitoring at sea and alert management
  • Replies to Captains' messages
  • Monitoring of stopovers, data updates, document management

You will quickly become autonomous in key departmental tasks, with support from the team. You will develop a solid understanding of how a ship operates and its operational constraints.

A comprehensive project based on your profile

At the same time, you will lead a structuring project, to be defined together according to your skills, your interest, and the expectations of your school. Possible examples:

  • Improve communication with captains (support, formats, language)
  • Create a user feedback loop
  • Structure or automate certain internal processes
  • Develop a support tool (interactive FAQ, internal chatbot, etc.)
  • Better formalize our documentary base or our performance indicators

You will be encouraged to propose your own topic related to the mission, the team will help you frame and document it.

Profile

  • Level: Bac+4/5
    –
    maritime
    , digital communication, design, UX, logistics, tech school with an interest in services
  • You are organized, curious, rigorous
  • You know how to write clearly in professional English (most exchanges are in English)
  • You are comfortable with digital tools
  • You are familiar with the maritime environment or adapt quickly to an environment that you are not necessarily familiar with
  • You want to learn both on the job and on a more structured project
