What you'll build

You will contribute to the SAC Smart Predict module, which delivers machine learning capabilities to SAP Analytics Cloud users, including classification, regression, and time series forecasting.

The project has two main objectives:

Demonstrate machine learning operations in SAC on Business Data Cloud (BDC) data sources using SAC Smart Predict.

Explore extended machine learning capabilities across SAC and BDC, leveraging additional SAP technologies such as HANA ML and the emerging BDC agentic architecture.

In collaboration with architects and data scientists from the SAC Predictive team, you will:

• Explore different architectural approaches to enable BDC data source consumption by SAC Smart Predict.
• Perform technical spikes and proof-of-concept work on data connectivity and integration with the Java-based backend technology stack.
• Investigate additional BDC-based solutions for machine learning, focusing on data access patterns and data write-back mechanisms.

What you bring

• Basic understanding of SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) and SAP Analytics Cloud architectures
• Entry-level skills in machine learning concepts and techniques
• Programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Python
• Knowledge of databases, data modeling, SQL and SQLScript
• Comfort working in complex technical environments, including:
• Backend components and distributed systems
• Multi-tenant architectures
• Cloud-native authentication mechanisms, including impersonation and advanced security models

You will join the SAC Predictive team, a multidisciplinary group of architects and data scientists focused on building and evolving SAP's predictive and machine learning capabilities. The team operates at the intersection of analytics, planning, and AI, working closely with cutting-edge SAP cloud technologies in a collaborative and innovative environment.
