The Decarbonization & Consulting department of the New Development & Transformation Business Division is seeking a passionate and technically curious Engineer to guide clients through the energy transition and deliver transformative low-carbon solutions. In addition to supporting new low-carbon initiatives, this role plays a key part in helping traditional refining and petrochemical operations evolve and remain competitive amid the uncertainties of the energy transition.

The mission of the New Development & Transformation Business Division is to innovate and develop technologies, products and digital solutions in the new areas in which Axens wishes to grow, in connection with the energy and ecological transition.

Within this Business Division, the Decarbonization & Consulting department's mission is to help its clients through studies to develop their projects in the conceptual phase, increase their margins and transform towards a low carbon economy, relying on the expertise of Axens, while creating commercial opportunities for the company.

This department has three main missions:

·       Facilitate and accelerate the emergence of projects in new Low Carbon areas.

·   Support existing activities when the client requires a holistic approach. This includes the integration of different technologies, including third-party technologies.

·       Provide consulting services to operators at site level to help them carry out their projects.

MAIN MISSIONS

·    Ensure the technical integrity of early-phase studies (Master Plans, feasibility, conceptual studies, audits, etc.) for clients in the refining and petrochemical sectors.

·       Validate and challenge technical deliverables produced by department engineers and internal/external partners.

·  Optimize clients' strategic process units: FCC, hydrocracking, reforming, hydrotreating, steam methane reforming, steam cracking.

·     Provide high-level operational support: performance monitoring, analysis, and recommendations for improvement.

·    Participate in field assignments (continuous improvement, audits, troubleshooting, etc.).

·       Train and mentor junior engineers, contribute to knowledge sharing, and support the development of internal tools (module creation, coaching, technical community animation, etc.).

·       Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and foster a strong team spirit.

·    Represent Axens in client presentations and interviews, and be able to explain technical complexity in a clear and educational manner.

KNOWLEDGE AND LEVEL REQUIRED

·       Engineering degree or Master's in chemical/process engineering.

·     Significant experience (minimum 15 years) in the operation of major refineries or petrochemical sites, with strong hands-on experience (operations, performance monitoring, performance improvement).

·       In-depth expertise in the strategic process technologies listed above.

·       Fluent English is essential.

·   Natural leadership, strong pedagogical skills, curiosity, and a passion for knowledge transfer.

·       Team player, with the ability to adapt to different cultures worldwide.

·       Limited travel, but a genuine openness to international contexts.

·       No on-call duties or emergency interventions.

·       Potential for career development towards technical management roles.
