This role is hybrid in Paris, France (with regular presence in our Paris office, and some travel to our London office). 

What you will be doing

Reporting to the VP of People, you will play a key strategic role covering two critical areas: 

  1. People Operations (France) & Paris office leadership  

As the senior expert for French People Operations, you will build scalable people processes and serve as one of the senior leaders driving culture and company priorities for our Paris office:  

  • Paris office People leadership: As one of the senior leaders in the Paris office, drive company priorities, embed cultural drivers, and shape the employee experience for our French team  

  • French employment law and SYNTEC expertise: Serve as the expert on SYNTEC CBA and French employment law, ensuring full compliance and proactively managing employment risk  

  • Scalable employee lifecycle management: Design and implement efficient, scalable processes for the complete employee lifecycle from hire to exit, including onboarding, probations, promotions, and employee relations. 

  • People operations excellence: Oversee contracts, benefits, health & safety compliance, and contractor management for France. Liaise with our payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing  

  • Talent Acquisition Support: Challenge job specs, drive hiring cadence, and work closely with our Talent Acquisition Manager to bring talent onboard across Tech, Product & Revenue for France. 

2.Strategic People projects (UK/FR) 

As part of a high-output, extremely commercial People function: 

  • You will be embedded across all areas of the business, working closely with every single function at Semble to drive our mission and company priorities forward. 

  • You will orchestrate and drive the roadmap and execution of one of our three strategic People pillars across all our geographies: enabling high impact, scaling culture & operating model, or attracting & retaining a future-ready workforce. 

  • You will own high-impact initiatives such as building manager enablement programs, driving AI adoption across the organisation, or launching customer empathy programs to strengthen our culture. 

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone pragmatic, commercial and proactive, with strong influencing skills and the ability to navigate complex organisational dynamics. You will play a key strategic role in scaling our People function to support business growth at Semble.  

Essentials: 

  • Fluent in English and French 

  • 5+ years' experience in a People Operations or People Generalist role within a startup/scale-up or tech environment 

  • Deep knowledge of SYNTEC collective bargaining agreement, French employment law, GDPR and HR compliance 

  • Strong business acumen with a commercial mindset, able to understand business needs and priorities and align People initiatives accordingly 

  • Exceptional multitasking skills with the ability to seamlessly switch contexts and manage competing priorities effectively 

  • Passionate about creating a high-performance environment, a positive employee experience and supporting culture-building initiatives 

  • Great communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across the business 

Desirables: 

  • A genuine interest for HealthTech and the important problems we're solving 

  • A soft spot for making sure all the things we do at company-level are aligned and consistent  

  • Up-to-date knowledge and evidence of continuous learning on current People trends and data-driven best practices 

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable with HR systems and data management 

  • Commitment to continuously improving your role and our processes, driving efficiency and effectiveness across the function
