We are supporting a
large-scale industrial automation program within a regulated Life Sciences environment
, seeking a
Senior Automation Engineer
with strong experience in
design, implementation, and integration of DCS platforms into Siemens PCS7
.

This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy working at
architecture and integration level

PLC systems, DCS platforms, and higher automation layers

GMP / GAMP-compliant frameworks
.

Role Overview

As a Senior PLC / DCS Automation Engineer, you will play a central role in the
integration of multiple automation platforms into a unified Siemens PCS7 environment
. You will be involved from
front-end design through implementation, testing, commissioning, and qualification
, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and system vendors.

This role requires strong
technical leadership
, hands-on engineering capability, and solid experience in
regulated manufacturing environments
.

Core Responsibilities

Automation Architecture & PCS7 Integration

• Design and define automation architectures based on
  Siemens PCS7
• Integrate
  existing or vendor DCS / PLC platforms
  into the PCS7 environment
• Define communication concepts, data models, and control strategies
• Support standardization and harmonization of control platforms

PLC / DCS Software Design & Implementation

• Develop and configure automation applications within
  Siemens PCS7
• Adapt or migrate control logic from non-PCS7 platforms into PCS7
• Support interface development between
  PCS7, PLC-based skids, and vendor systems
• Ensure reliable integration across
  field, control, and supervisory layers

Testing, Commissioning & Qualification

• Lead or support
  FAT, SAT, and commissioning
  activities for PCS7-based systems
• Troubleshoot complex integration and interoperability issues
• Support
  IQ/OQ execution
  and validation testing
• Manage punch lists, deviations, and corrective actions

Compliance & Regulated Environment

• Ensure compliance with
  GMP, GAMP5, 21 CFR Part 11, and Data Integrity requirements
• Contribute to
  URS, FDS, HDS, SDS
  , and compliance matrices
• Support change control, deviation investigations, and CAPA processes
• Participate in risk analysis (including functional and system risk assessments)

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with
  electrical, mechanical, process, IT/OT, and validation teams
• Coordinate technically with
  OEMs, vendors, and system integrators
• Act as a
  technical reference / subject matter expert
  for PCS7 integration topics

Required Profile

Education

• Degree in
  Automation, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or Industrial Computing

Experience

• 10+ years
  of experience in industrial automation
• Proven experience working with
  Siemens PCS7
  in a design or integration role
• Strong background in
  PLC and DCS system architecture and integration
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects in
  pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industries
• Hands-on involvement in
  GAMP-regulated projects and validation activities

Technical Skills

• Siemens PCS7
  (core requirement)
• PLC programming with
  Siemens S7 / TIA Portal
• Experience integrating
  non-PCS7 DCS or PLC platforms
• Exposure to SCADA/DCS systems (WinCC, iFIX, FactoryTalk, DeltaV or similar)
• Industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA, Modbus, etc.)
• Commissioning and troubleshooting of complex automation systems
