About the mission we offer you:
Some SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) projects use either CO2 or biomass as feedstock. Downstream SAF conversion units have very strict impurity specifications (ppm or even ppb), and the available feedstock must undergo a pre-treatment (purification) step in order to meet the constraints of the downstream units.
The objective of the internship is to define the main stages of purification of SAF unit feedstocks based on the impurities present and the required specifications. The main stages of the internship are defined below.
- Feedstock quality – definition of impurities
- Define the typical impurities in syngas and CO2 feedstocks based on publicly available data.
- Specifications required by SAF production units
- Define the maximum quantities of impurities based on downstream technology (MeOH, FT, etc.).
- Study of the impurity treatment scheme
- Identify vendors/licensors who have purification technologies.
- Contact vendors based on typical composition
- Establish one or more possible treatment schemes based on the operating conditions required for each impurity
- Pre-dimensioning of equipment
During this internship, you will be supported by a mentor who will answer any questions you may have.
Starting Date: Between January and April 2026
Duration : 4 to 6 months
About you:
We love to hear from you and how you match with this position. To be successful in this mission you should consider the following requirements:
- You are preparing your thrid year at a school specializing in process engineering/chemical engineering, or a general education program with a process engineering/chemical engineering option.
- You are fluent in both French and English.
- You are rigorous, autonomous, curious and solution-oriented.
- Having some knowledge on process engineering simulation software such as HYSYS or ProII is a plus.
