Associate Scientist

Job Summary

Support research activities, conducting tasks that include providing technical assistance, testing, and data gathering and analysis.

Based in the Creative Center of Neuilly-sur-Seine & part of the Scent Technology & Innovation (ST&I) department, the Fine Fragrance Technical Innovation team is responsible for a portfolio of scientific projects, in direct support of business needs. Its members drive category-strategic initiatives, contribute to building data-driven insights, and are dedicated to developing and improving IFF tools. The team accompanies IFF's digital transformation and supports bringing consumer desired scent solutions to the market, through collaboration with in-house cross-functional experts, notably IFF's perfumers.

To support us in this effort, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic, open-minded, and proactive Associate Scientist. This is a fixed-term position to cover maternity leave, expected to last until the March 22nd, 2026.

If you'd like to...

• Integrate a multidisciplinary team dedicated to solving complex technical challenges for the fine fragrance category

• Plan technical projects & collaborate with cross-functional teams to efficiently deliver scientific results

• Engage in hands-on laboratory experimentation, with a direct application to business challenges.

Key Competencies

• Preferably, a background in chemistry, physical chemistry or formulation science

• Previous experience in sensory science and some knowledge in perfumery science is a plus

• Comfortable working with databases, handling structured data and generating insights

• Great work autonomy and proactiveness; out of the box thinker

• Effective listening and communication skills

• Adaptable, easy-going and committed team player
