Financial Analyst

The position

The FP&A function supports management through robust financial modelling, forecasting, cost analysis, and data reliability, while ensuring alignment with accounting standards, internal controls, and governance requirements.

This role is designed for a technically strong FP&A analyst with a solid understanding of financial systems, data structures, and modelling, capable of bridging accounting, reporting, and forward-looking analysis.

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for maintaining technically robust FP&A outputs, including multi-year financial models, budget and forecast mechanics, cost allocation frameworks, and automated reporting. The role requires a high level of numerical rigor, system understanding, and analytical discipline.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial modelling & forecasting (core responsibility)

• Build, maintain, and document budget, forecast, and multi-year financial models
• Perform scenario analysis, sensitivities, and stress testing on cost, volume, and resource assumptions
• Ensure consistency between management forecasts, statutory accounts, and cost recovery mechanisms
• Support long-term planning and sustainability analysis

2. Cost analysis & allocation

• Analyse fixed vs variable cost structures across services and functions
• Support the design, maintenance, and validation of cost allocation and cost recovery models
• Reconcile FP&A views with accounting data and investigate variances
• Provide quantitative support for pricing, cost recovery, and efficiency discussions

3. Reporting, data & systems

• Produce monthly FP&A reporting packs with clear variance analysis and drivers
• Develop and maintain automated reports and dashboards (e.g. Sage BI or equivalent)
• Ensure data integrity, traceability, and reconciliation between source systems
• Contribute to master data consistency and documentation of financial assumptions

4. Controls, documentation & audit support

• Document FP&A processes, models, and key assumptions
• Ensure FP&A outputs are audit-ready, reproducible, and well-controlled
• Support internal and external audits with clear explanations and reconciliations
• Apply disciplined version control and validation of models and reports

5. Continuous improvement & transformation

Apply and respect internal accounting procedures and segregation of duties

• Identify opportunities to automate, standardise, and industrialise FP&A processes
• Contribute to Finance transformation initiatives (tools, processes, governance)
• Improve forecasting accuracy and model robustness over time

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting. Master's degree is an asset.
• 3–6 years of experience in: FP&A / Controlling; Audit or transaction services; Financial modelling or consulting
• Experience in a regulated, infrastructure, utility, or complex service environment is a strong advantage
• Advanced financial modelling skills (budgeting, forecasting, sensitivities)
• Very strong Excel skills (complex formulas, structured models, reconciliation logic)
• Solid understanding of: P&L and balance sheet mechanics; Cost structures and allocations; Accruals and accounting logic
• Experience with BI / reporting tools is a plus
• Fluent in English. French is a strong asset.
