M&A and Investment Strategy Analyst F/M

The roleThe "Investment and M&A Team", under the responsibility of the Chief Investment Officer, is in charge of the investment strategy of Allianz Trade's own investment portfolios (nearly EUR 6.0bn in total), from the design of strategic asset allocations based on Asset-Liability processes, until the relationship with asset managers; it is also responsible for the coordination and financial execution of internal and external M&A deals (due diligences, financial modeling and review of targets, governance and coordination of deals with internal and external stakeholders).The M&A and Investment Strategy Analyst for Allianz Trade Group will join the "M&A and Investment Strategy" team and have a very large range of topics and face various challenges in an international, high level and result-oriented environment.He/she will primarily work on deals and M&A projects; but given the seasonality and cyclicality of the M&A activity, he will also be fully involved in all other activities of the team, and as such he will very often act as an Investment Strategist and participate in the construction and steering of the investment portfolio of Allianz Trade and its local entities.The candidate should be at ease with the combination of the two activities.Main tasksM&A Projects (depending on the seasonality and the activity):Handle financial analysis and deals structuring, business plans, valuation models and profitability projections, insure coordination with AZT Group functions, AZ SE and Advisors (banks, lawyers) on valuation.Contribute to Due Diligence processes and transactions follow-upSet up/document/maintain Allianz Trade M&A processes & standardsMarket, technology & competition surveillance to efficiently detect & evaluate business growth opportunities & afferent risksInvestment Strategy (on a daily to weekly basis (outside of M&A project periods))Monitor capital markets environment and impacts on investment portfolios (consolidated balance sheets > 5bn EUR), participate in Allianz Investment Management (AIM)'s life.Analyze investment opportunities (and generate investment ideas) for the portfoliosAssist in the implementation of investment decisions and monitor their execution by Asset Managers, maintaining a smooth day-to-day interface with themMonitor, interpret and analyze portfolios performances, financial results and compare them to the AZT Group's financial targets (income and P&L generation, IFRS 9 KPIs etc.)Participate in the elaboration and presentation of communications to sponsors about portfolio activities (Group BoM through quarterly FICO, monthly local CFO meetings, Local Boards, Allianz SE / AIM SE regular requests…)ProfileMinimum 3 years M&A analyst, preferably on regulated businesses (Bank and Insurance).Bullet-proof integrity, transparency, confidentiality and market good conductEthical decision-making and corporate responsibility state of mindStrong technical capacities in reading and analyzing financial statementsFamiliar and at ease with Insurance and Financial accountingAdvanced and proven valuation capacitiesTeam-player and autonomousAdvanced knowledge of software (Office pack and PowerBI in particular)Flexibility, adaptability and prioritization capacities (workflow can be overwhelming at specific times of the year)Able to cope with emergency and constrained timelinesParisFranceAllianz Group is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
