Senior Accountant

Interim Senior Accountant (Gironde Area – 3-4 Months)

We are supporting a European group backed by a leading international private equity fund (revenues ~€250M+, operations across Europe and the US). The French business is entering a period of transformation and requires a strong Senior Accountant to secure day-to-day accounting during a systems and process transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute monthly closings (journals, accruals, cut-off, reconciliations)
• Manage TVA, tax declarations, and statutory compliance
• Prepare balance sheet files and support external auditors
• Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and Group reporting packages
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of intercompany transactions
• Improve accounting processes and contribute to stabilising the new ERP environment
• Collaborate with Group Finance, FP&A and SSC (AP/AR)

Ideal Background

• 5–15 years in general accounting / Responsable Comptable / Senior GL roles
• Strong mastery of French accounting & tax
• Experience in industrial or multi-entity environments is a plus
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, PE-owned company undergoing transformation
• French-speaking, hands-on, rigorous, and able to start quickly
• On-site presence required in the Gironde region
