The Role

The Energy Operations Team Lead plays a critical role in overseeing and managing real-time operations across European gas and power markets. This role ensures operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement while supervising and coordinating a team.

You'll
manage day-to-day team activities
, act as the go-to expert on complex operations, and help shape processes, tools, and client relationships to support our operational efficiency.

Job Requirements
About You
You're experienced, driven, and ready to take ownership. You thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments and bring structure, clarity, and energy to your work. You care about client outcomes, team performance, and operational excellence.

Key qualifications and skills:

  • A degree in Engineering, Economics, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 6+ years of experience in energy markets, with operational and trading exposure
  • Experience supervising or coordinating teams in operational environments
  • Deep understanding of European market design, balancing rules, and compliance
  • Strong leadership and team coordination capabilities
  • Fluent in English (written & spoken) – other European languages are a plus
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; bonus if you know Python or Power BI
  • Comfortable with fast decision-making and crisis management
  • This role is hands-on, client-facing, and highly impactful.

Job Responsibilities
Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervising day-to-day operations and energy trading activities in multiple European markets
  • Monitoring client positions and leading real-time market interventions
  • Acting as the team's operational reference point, providing guidance on complex topics
  • Coordinating team schedules, shift patterns, and ensuring 24/7 coverage where needed
  • Supporting and guiding team members to uphold high performance and collaboration
  • Engaging directly with clients to align on operational goals and collect feedback
  • Reviewing and improving SOPs and process documentation
  • Driving continuous improvement based on performance metrics and lessons learned
  • Sharing operational insights to help improve internal tools and workflows
  • Collaborating with Sales, Product, and Technical teams to support client success
