Introduction

Serco France has established itself as a reliable service provider in the French market, offering a broad range of engineering, technical and management services across multiple industries. With a strategic presence in key locations, Serco France plays a critical role in supporting space, defence and transportation sectors, providing expertise in systems integration, operational support and mission-critical services. Leveraging its global experience and local knowledge, Serco France ensures seamless project execution and operational excellence, making it a trusted partner for both governmental and commercial clients. This solid foundation enables Serco France to foster innovation and deliver tailored solutions that drive efficiency and value across the industries it serves.

As part of our continued growth across the European space sector, we are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our team in Toulouse. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing cloud architectures, working with Earth Observation data and building scalable platforms that support environmental monitoring, geospatial intelligence and climate science.

The Community You'll Step Into

You will join a multidisciplinary and international environment where cloud engineers, data scientists, software developers and remote sensing experts collaborate closely. Toulouse is at the heart of Europe's space ecosystem, and you will be surrounded by professionals who are passionate about technology and its role in supporting science and sustainability.

Within Serco France, you will become part of a team that values knowledge sharing, autonomy and collaboration. People work together to solve complex challenges, exchange ideas openly and continuously improve the solutions they deliver. It is an environment where technical expertise and teamwork go hand in hand.

The Difference You'll Make

The cloud platforms you design and maintain will be at the core of how Earth Observation data is processed, analysed and delivered to end users. Your work will enable reliable access to large volumes of data and support applications used in environmental monitoring, climate analysis and geospatial intelligence.

By building secure, scalable and cost-efficient cloud environments, you help transform raw data into actionable insights. Your contribution strengthens Serco France's role as a trusted technical partner and supports clients in adopting modern cloud-native solutions with confidence. Through your work, complex systems become more resilient, efficient and easier to evolve over time.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will design, deploy and operate cloud infrastructures that support Earth Observation workflows and data processing pipelines. You will work with platforms such as OVHcloud, AWS, Azure or GCP to build environments tailored to the needs of each project. You will develop automated pipelines, integrate EO data sources and ensure that systems remain reliable and scalable as demand evolves.

You will apply DevOps practices to improve deployment, monitoring and maintenance, using automation tools to simplify operations and reduce risk. Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues and optimising resource usage will be part of your daily work. You will also ensure that cloud environments meet security, data governance and sustainability requirements.

As part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to the adoption of new cloud technologies and best practices. You will document your solutions clearly and provide technical support to colleagues and stakeholders, helping them understand and use the systems effectively.

What You'll Bring

You bring solid experience as a Cloud Engineer and feel confident working in data-intensive environments. You have hands-on experience with major cloud platforms and are comfortable using infrastructure-as-code and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Docker and Kubernetes. You understand networking fundamentals and know how to design secure architectures, including firewall configuration, VPN connections and routing.

You have experience working with scripting and programming languages such as Python or Bash and enjoy automating workflows to improve reliability and efficiency. Familiarity with Earth Observation data formats like GeoTIFF or NetCDF, as well as geospatial tools such as QGIS, GDAL or Google Earth Engine, is a strong advantage.

You communicate clearly, work well independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Cloud certifications are appreciated, as is a background in environmental science, remote sensing or geoinformatics. You are comfortable working in an international environment and are fluent in both French and English.
Above all, you bring curiosity, initiative and a desire to contribute to solutions that support meaningful scientific and environmental missions. You must also hold EU nationality.

On Offer

Joining Serco France means becoming part of a team that values both professional growth and personal wellbeing. You will be offered a permanent position, providing long-term stability and the opportunity to build your career in a fast-growing and innovative environment.

You will benefit from a hybrid working model, with the flexibility to work from home up to two days per week. Your workplace in Toulouse is a modern coworking space designed to support collaboration and comfort, with access to free coffee, shared kitchens, a restaurant and shower facilities.

Serco France supports continuous learning, giving you access to training programmes that help you develop new skills and stay current with evolving technologies. A vacation bonus is paid in June, and 50 percent of public transport costs are reimbursed upon presentation of receipts, making your daily commute easier.
Most importantly, you will join a European-level environment where your work contributes to projects with real impact, supporting innovation, sustainability and the future of space-based Earth observation.
