About the RoleWe're looking for a Software Tooling Engineer to design and build the internal tools that enable our operations to move faster and scale efficiently.
You will work across internal data infrastructure and operational workflows, building high-leverage tools that support teams across the company.
This is a highly versatile role combining strong software engineering with a deep understanding of user needs. As a member of the tooling module you'll own the architecture, development, and deployment of tools that become essential to Harmattan's core operational workflows: AI-powered internal agents, workflow automation, internal data-visualization tools, wrappers, integrations, and lightweight backend services.
ResponsibilitiesInternal Tools & AutomationBuild internal tools and AI/LLM-powered agents used across the different teams.
Develop dashboards, visualization tools, and workflow automations that accelerate day-to-day operations at Harmattan AI.
Streamline core operational processes through custom tools, connectors, and integrations with internal systems.
Work closely with the teams to identify bottlenecks, iterate quickly, and deliver high-leverage solutions.
Build and maintain lightweight backend services powering internal tools (APIs, data storage, metrics, logging).
Support cloud deployment and integration with CI/CD and data pipelines
Establish standards for code quality, testing, observability, and documentation.
Ensure internal tools are robust, monitored, and evolve with operational needs.
MSc or BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent professional experience
Strong software engineering experience in Python (C++ is a plus but not required)
Experience developing internal tools, workflow automations, or AI/LLM-based utilities
Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS)
Understanding of CI/CD and internal software delivery practices
Communication & Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication in English, capable of leading diverse principals – from junior members to senior executives ; ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
