Casualty Risk Control Specialist
in our
Risk Control
team in our Casualty business.

Sompo's casualty team offers an integrated approach to underwriting exposures across all aspects of the casualty industry. Our practical risk management programs are tailored to each client's business operation, market environment and priorities to assist our clients with their safety and risk management efforts.

The Casualty Risk Control Specialist is responsible for managing resources used to provide risk assessments and consultative services for the underwriting team and for casualty clients. The department actively promote client retention, support new business development, and achieve loss exposure assessments and improvements.

In addition, the Casualty Risk Control Specialist will provide risk improvement consultation to our customers.

Location:
This position will be based out of our
Cologne, Germany or Paris, France

What you'll be doing:

  • Partnering with the Casualty Team Leaders in Underwriting throughout Continental Europe
  • Risk mitigation through comprehensive recommendations, develop logistics best practices, monitoring their implementation with clients to ensure loss reduction and better risk management procedures.
  • Partnering Claims, and Management/Executive teams to support and strengthen corporate business goals, including retention, new business growth, reducing loss exposure, and overall regional profitability.
  • Providing service quality reviews and risk desktop reviews for Underwriters throughout CE.
  • Conducting loss control surveys at client locations to determine potential hazards and risk factors to be considered in underwriting/risk selection.
  • Analyzing loss trends, recognize opportunities to provide risk control products and/or services which can help reduce losses.
  • Creating client facing reports and/or loss control surveys.

What You'll Bring

  • A University degree or equivalent industry accreditation.
  • 10+ years' experience in insurance Risk Control in the Continental Europe.
  • Solid understanding of sound Risk Control processes and techniques.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve and find alternative equivalent solutions to complex technical, business, and interpersonal problems.
  • A self-starter who can initiate and complete a project with minimal supervision
