Our teams in the Space surveillance and Tracking sector are looking for interns to start their career development with us, participating in Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and space debris mitigation activities.

WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

In our team you will participate in developing a tool for the reconstruction of the shape and attitude of a space object from a sequence of Adaptive Optics (AO) or Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) images, using proven Visual Graphics methods like the Structure from Motion (SfM), and the generation of a wavefront file (.obj) from the obtained cloud of points of the surface of the object. The implementation will rely on available open-source Python libraries

The main functions are :

  • Bibliographic analysis
  • Design trade-off (reuse vs from scratch)
  • Code implementation
  • Execution of simulations (validation, analysis of results, post-treatment...)
  • Writing technical notes

WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

We're looking for an engineering/mathematics/physics student with curiosity for exploring other subjects (object-oriented SW...) and with a taste for the scientific method (conscientious and methodic) and knowledge in :

  • Space Dynamics
  • Applied mathematics and physics
  • Object-oriented SW development – Python

We will also value knowledge in Parallel algorithm analysis and development.
