Job Description
What kind of structure will you be joining as a Contract Engineer ?
We are recruiting on behalf of one of our major clients in Oil and Gas sector for a Contract Engineer
Contract Engineer – What will your main responsibilities be ?
- The Contract Engineer is fully assigned to the EPC Project (LNG plant), and will be mobilized at Home Office (Paris – France).
- He/she will embedded into the contract management team, assisting the Contract Manager for the project execution (management of the prime contract with the client).
- In general, provide appropriate support to the Contract Manager in the management and administration of the prime contract post signature, consistently with the relevant policies, standards and processes.
- Monitor timely adherence by Contractor, by the Client and by the supply chain to their respective contractual provisions (entitlement checking, notifications, insurances, bonds, certifications, operational, etc) and coordinate any actions required in this regards with other departments.
- Perform prime contract analyses on specific topics, when requested by management
- Initiate, draft and/or review, as the case may be, incoming and outgoing correspondence with Clients, Partners and, if needed, with supply chain.
- Initiate and coordinate the preparation, negotiation and settlement of change orders, extension of time or other claims towards the client.
- Additionally, could be requested to provide contract and legal support to the procurement/subcontracting teams for the pre and post award activities of the orders with the supply chain (flow-down/back to back, negotiation of particular terms and conditions, management of claims and other subjects out of usual day to day procurement/subcontracting scope) (purchasing services) and perform subsequent contract management activities towards the client (selling services).
- Liaise and obtain when required legal expertise from the Legal Team (corporate, compliance, Intellectual property, insurance, litigation, general legal advice), from other functions (treasury, tax, etc.).
- Functionally reports to the Head of Contract Management Department.
- Operationally reports to the Contract Manager, with interactions with the rest of the project management team.
What profile and skills are required for the Contract Engineer position?
Field of expertise in:
Oil & Gas Industry,
- EPC projects (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) in EPC Contractor seat.
- Contract management towards the client (post award activities of selling services)
- Negotiation of legal provision of purchase orders (pre-award activities of purchasing services)
Knowledge in Compliance, Intellectual property, Insurances
English spoken. French is a real plus.
- Autonomous, rigorous, good communication skills
- Full knowledge of standards: English law / Common law.
