Head of Sector

ING is one of the world's leading financial institutions with the ambition of becoming the best Wholesale Bank in Europe by 2026. ING France are supporting this goal with their LeadiNG by 2026 strategic plan and are looking for a Head of the Sector & Specialized Lending Transaction Management. In this role, you will carry primary responsibility for this front office team, running some of the key processes related to lending transactions and reporting to the Head of Lending in France. As a player-coach you will be working with a team of bankers with varied experience levels that execute new lending transactions and work closely with the client relationship managers and sector experts to originate new lending transactions.

The work will be fast-paced and multifaceted. In addition to your managerial responsibilities, you will focus on your core Sector, but you will also be exposed to, and expected to work with, other sectors in which ING specializes.

The role involves contact with clients, prospects, other banks, technical and legal advisors and frequent cooperation with internal departments such as Credit Risk Management, Legal, and Deal Execution.

Key responsibilities:

• Actively manage all facets of the daily operations of the team as well as coordinating deal staffing, tracking of activities and deliverables
• Engaging in all aspects of people management
• Oversee multiple TMs to ensure proper training and personal and professional development
• Ensuring a consistent high level of service, quality output and policy compliance
• Staying current on organizational operating policies and procedures
• Enhancing internal processes, suggest efficiency improvements
• Cultivating a cohesive team environment
• The Transaction Management team will be involved with every new structured financing transaction, work closely with the Sector PAMs and/or Deal Principals and will take primary responsibility for many of the key processes, which include:

-Preparing and efficiently processing of credit approval packages, including the review of due diligence including summarizing and performing analytics

-Reviewing Greenlight memos in coordination with the Origination teams / Sector PAMs & Deal Principals,

-Reviewing and guiding financial models and sensitivity analysis

-Reviewing risk ratings and loan pricing, and interfacing with risk management

-Managing a new deal through the loan underwriting process, including credit approval and loan closing

-Overseeing the initial credit application process:

• Performing due diligence
• Managing and writing credit applications, including ancillary document

-Reviewing term sheets in coordination with the Origination teams / Sector PAMs & Deal Principals

-Responsibility for deal closing including final CPs and obtaining the final loan documents

-Reviewing legal documentation to ensure these reflect the credit approval conditions and getting the necessary sign-offs, legal opinions, PoAs

-Coordinating with Origination, Portfolio Management, Legal, Finance, Agency teams, and Deal Execution teams

-Attending meetings and calls with clients including on transaction-related due diligence

-Interfacing with PAMs and sector specialists to ensure an active dialogue on relevant sector trends

Qualifications and Competencies

Qualifications / Education:

Master's degree in finance/economics/accounting/management/engineering (or similar)

Experience / Knowledge:

10+ years of relevant WB lending experience as well as significant sector-related field experience
