The headquarters of the AXA Group (GIE AXA) brings together our corporate activities. It provides guidance and support to subsidiaries around the world, to ensure the coordination and monitoring of the Group's global strategy, the application of its standards, the consistency of commercial approaches and the sharing of best practices. Within the Group, you will join the GUO (Group Underwriting Office). The Group Underwriting Office is accountable for establishing, enabling, and driving profit and growth through Product Underwriting Strategy, Portfolio Design and Technical Underwriting Excellence in partnership with the AXA Entities, for both Commercial and Retail, through:

• Portfolio Design Steering
• Underwriting Product Strategy and Profitability Measurement
• Technical Underwriting Guidance
• Pricing Models, Platforms and Analytics
• Risk Appetite deployment
• Ceded Reinsurance strategy design and purchasing

Within this Department, you will be part of the EB & Health Team within the Life, Savings and Health Team in charge of driving technical excellence of EB and Health businesses at Group Level.

Within GUO, the Senior EB (Employee Benefits) & Health Expert contributes to building and promoting technical excellence and risk culture in pricing, underwriting and portfolio management across AXA entities and contributes to the development and achievement of Group Ambition to make EB & Health business a strategic pillar.

The role has no line management responsibilities but interfaces with Life & Health underwriters & risk managers across multiple AXA entities, AXA Health Division as well as with other Group Functions such as GRM, GCD, PBRC, GPM.

Governance and UW Framework:

• Participate to the yearly review of EB & Health governance framework (incl. Standards, S2 Policies & UW guidelines), and the review of delegation of authority to entities and UW limits.
• Manage DAP (Deal Approval Process) and PAP (Product Approval Process) referrals from entities, requiring 360° view and detailed analysis.
• Manage the annual Overseas Agreement review and validation for entities underwriting business located overseas.
• Communicate with other Group stakeholders the activity of GUO in term of product and deal approvals.

Business support:

• Participate in entities reviews (IDR, TR) & monitoring of the remediation plan implementation.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary taskforces to help a few "hot spot" entities identify issues and areas for improvement, and in the execution of remediation plan to reach financial targets.
• Draft GUO's opinion on the Health & EB business of AXA entities in memos to top management.
• Ensure appropriate knowledge management of all entities (information sharing & storage, regular informal meetings, etc.)
• Monitor the financial performance of entities through a regular follow-up of information shared to the Group through Clearances, the Product Tree or Monthly Business Reviews.
• Contribute to technical excellence programs, notably the Specialize program with AXA Health Division.
• Play a key role in the Portfolio Management Process (PMP) as a reviewer with specific knowledge of EB & Health practices within the reviewed entities.

Background:

• 8+ Years' experience as an EB & Health insurance technical expert with an actuarial and financial view, preferably including experience in more than one country or more than one type of product.

Technical skills:

• Fluent in spoken & written English with another European language preferred.
• In depth understanding of EB & Health business.
• Good working knowledge of Health & Life insurance markets.
• Strong business writing skills, with ability to draft executive summaries as well as in-depth memos.
