Who we are
Lysk is a European defence startup. Our mission is to create modern software tailored for hostile environments. We are in stealth but have already been recognised as one of France's top 20 seed companies. Backed by Project A, Europe's leading defence VC, Expeditions VC, and angels including the founders of Cloudflare, Quantum Systems, and ElevenLabs, as well as the Estonian Archangel and Ukrainian Freedom Fund, we're assembling a world-class team at the intersection of modern software and defence. We do not work on weapons systems or hardware products.
Our founding team includes two early Cloudflare employees and a former GIGN commander (French special forces). Other team mebers include ex-Googlers, Thales PhDs, and ex-founders. We're actively looking for a
founding AI engineer
to join us in Paris or Warsaw.
What you'll work on
You'll work closely with the founders to evolve our early stack and help service our first customers (French, German, Ukrainian, and Polish military units, as well as emergency services).
Initially, your focus will be on bespoke real-time speech to text systems, primarily in Python.
Who we're looking for
Pragmatic, product-minded, strong execution skills, and a desire to build from zero. You might be especially excited about this if you:
- Have experience with implementing Voice AI systems in resource constrained environments
- Are comfortable diving into
audio processing
and
low-latency systems - Want your work to have real-world impact, helping those who serve
- Thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- French language skills
Location & Compensation
- We're currently hiring in
Paris
and
Warsaw - We have an in office culture and can sponsor relocation, if required
- Compensation will depend on experience; expected range €60–100K + equity
