What You Can Expect

As EMEA Strategic Marketing Manager you are the strategic owner of a Segment Sportsmed portfolio in EMEA. The role defines portfolio direction, shapes differentiated value propositions, partners with global and regional stakeholders, and drives cross-country alignment for launch excellence and commercial performance.

This position plays a central role in translating global strategy into EMEA realities and into actionable downstream execution plans. The Segment Manager defines what needs to be achieved, why it matters, and what is required to win in each customer segment while empowering Regional Marketing Managers and country commercial teams to deliver results.

How You'll Create Impact
  1. Portfolio & Strategy Leadership

  2. Shape and refine the EMEA Segment Strategy, ensuring alignment with global priorities.

  3. Partner with the Marketing Lead to define segment portfolio positioning, long-term value drivers, and competitive strategy.
  4. Provide strategic direction to countries by defining priorities, customer segments, and winning propositions.

  5. NPI Strategic Leadership & Launch Excellence

  6. Serve as the strategic owner of New Product Introductions (NPIs) within the segment across EMEA.

  7. Define differentiated value proposition, target customers, key messages, and revenue expectations for the first 3 years.
  8. Ensure cross-functional launch readiness across promotion, communication, operational readiness, training, and education.
  9. After launch, monitor performance, gather field insights, and adjust commercial and marketing tactics accordingly.

  10. Commercial Enablement & Cross-Country Support

  11. Coach and support Regional Marketing Managers, Local Marketing Managers, and Country Commercial Leaders to successfully execute the segment strategy.

  12. Provide selective key-account support and hands-on guidance for high-impact opportunities.
  13. Ensure that sales teams have clear, compelling tools and messaging to deliver on revenue commitments.

  14. Education, Brand Activation & Communications

  15. Collaborate with the Zimmer Biomet Institute to design education pathways for surgeons and HCPs, ensuring safe and effective use of the segment's solutions.

  16. Build internal training programs together with Sales Academy for sales teams and new hires.
  17. Work with Marketing Communications to design the promotional mix, campaigns, and content aligned with segment priorities.

  18. Forecasting, Planning & Demand Alignment

  19. Own segment-level NPI and LRP planning in collaboration with Demand Planning.

  20. Ensure mid- and long-term forecasts reflect market dynamics, expected adoption curves, and competitive developments.
  21. Support rationalisation initiatives and portfolio lifecycle decisions.

  22. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  23. Act as the connector across EMEA, ensuring alignment with other Segment Managers and identifying cross-selling opportunities.

  24. Align with RA/QA, Supply Chain, Commercial Ops, and Finance to ensure smooth implementation of strategic initiatives.
  25. Strong communication with product users.

Your Background
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in medical devices or healthcare, ideally in marketing, consulting, or strategy.
  • Experience managing strategies or portfolios at international or EMEA level is required.
