 Your impact

As Legal Counsel – Emerging Markets at OpenText, you'll be a trusted advisor for our operations across the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region and, when needed, the Middle East and Africa (MEA). You'll work closely with business teams to draft and negotiate high-value contracts, navigate complex legal frameworks, and ensure compliance in an evolving technology landscape. Beyond traditional legal work, you'll also help drive our digital transformation in legal operations, bringing innovative solutions to the forefront of our processes.

 What you need to succeed

Experience & Skills

  • Qualified lawyer with 3+ years post-qualification experience (PQE)

  • Strong track record in contract drafting and negotiation in the technology sector

  • Background in multinational IT/tech companies or top-tier law firms advising such clients

  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken) and native fluency in a CEE language

  • Knowledge of data protection, cybersecurity, and AI-related legal frameworks

  • Business-oriented legal thinking — balancing risk management with commercial goals

  • A keen interest in legal tech and process innovation

  • High attention to detail combined with a pragmatic, solution-driven approach

  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, multicultural environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, advisory style
