Our client is a fast-growing climate tech startup developing next-generation technology to capture and remove CO2 from the atmosphere. Their mission is to make large-scale carbon removal efficient, affordable, and sustainable - a key step in tackling global climate change. Backed by leading European and US investors, the company is led by an experienced founding team based in Paris.
They are now looking for a Lab Manager to join their R&D team and help drive the development of their breakthrough carbon capture technology.
Lab Manager
As Lab Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day lab operations and hands-on experimental work in collaboration with R&D scientists. You'll manage analytical equipment, develop and improve experimental methods, and ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient running of lab activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong practical lab experience who wants to contribute directly to impactful climate innovation in a dynamic start-up environment.
Lab Manager responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and develop analytical instruments (e.g. NMR, LC/MS, TIC/TOC).
- Support scientists with experiment design, assembly, and operation of lab-scale setups.
- Develop and standardise experimental methods to ensure quality and reproducibility.
- Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient laboratory environment.
- Manage lab logistics, consumables, and budget tracking.
Lab Manager requirements
- Degree (Master's, BTS, DUT) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in a wet lab or pilot-scale environment (exceptional early-career candidates also considered).
- Solid understanding of acid-base chemistry and chemical equilibria.
- Experience with analytical techniques (e.g. NMR, chromatography, titration, pH/conductivity).
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting experiments or setups.
- Fluent in English; French is a plus.
- Must have the right to work in France.
