POSITION SUMMARY:

The business development team sits in the MarCom department. The department goal is to set the standard for marketing at Milliman by providing systems, services, and strategic guidance that elevate the brand, empower our professionals, and enable growth.

The person in this role will spend 50% of their time supporting Paris practice business development efforts and 50% of their time supporting broader business development activity in Europe and globally.  

NOTE ABOUT LOCATION: This is a hybrid role out of Milliman's Paris office. The ideal candidate must be willing to work 3 days a week out of Milliman's Paris office.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

The person in this role will need to be flexible and attend events/conferences to meet the requirements of the role. There will be some travel involved (up to 3-4 times a year within Europe).

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

The person in this role must be fluent in both English & French (speaking & writing).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Digital promotion of Milliman Paris:

  • Manage Paris' LinkedIn activity – defining a communication strategy with the top management, soliciting content, advising consultants, producing and posting content. Reviewing analytics and advising on ways to improve.
  • Create and maintain a digital marketing calendar that makes the most of content, in line with Paris' marketing and business development strategy.
  • Regularly meet with Paris' top management to identify work products that should be promoted.
  • Propose a marketing strategy for identified work products.
  • In line with the chosen marketing strategy, craft compelling and concise copy for social media, blogs, newsletters or any other formats required.
  • Coordinate and/or produce supporting imagery, infographics and videos for marketing purposes with the creative team, ensure digital assets are aligned to brand identity and with design best practices.
  • Regularly report the results of Paris' office digital promotion efforts to top management.
  • Monitor the digital marketing strategy of the Milliman Paris main competitors and regularly reports the key messages to Paris' office top management.
  • Collaborate with the LinkedIn managers group.
  • Liaise with MarCom to identify where their support is needed or is of added value to perform these activities.

Business/client development for Milliman Paris:

  • Support Paris' top management in defining its business/client development strategy, in conjunction with the business development team.
  • Steer on a day-to-day basis this strategy notably ensures that actions are performed and targets are met.
  • Assess and enforce the possible usage of MS Dynamics to steer this strategy.
  • Regularly report the progress to Paris' top management.

Events/conferences for Milliman Paris:

  • Lead on marketing/Business Development (BD) elements of Milliman or externally hosted events/conferences (including participation at external events), example: coordination of the preparation of marketing material, digital promotion, managing booths, giveaways etc. in Paris.
  • Liaise with the MarCom events team where their support is needed for meeting planning.
  • Contribute Paris information to the firmwide events calendar.
  • Ensure events yield useful content and assets for pre-, during and post-event marketing (such as photos of the event, quotes or information to produce blogs).
  • Work with consultants on BD activity before and after events.

 Non-Paris/Miscellaneous Activities:

  • Support the team with the creation of content for client meetings and pitches.
  • Lead RFPs through effective project management, liaise with procurement teams at the client.
  • Contribute towards maintaining the team's standard materials, eg general content decks, placemats and other client collateral.
  • Work with legal department on client agreements.
  • Be a MS Dynamics super user, ensure any client activity with BD team involvement is tracked, reported and maintained.
  • Create reports with data available in Dynamics and share with practices in a meaningful way to foster growth conversations.
  • Support the BD Director with strategy meetings and follow up actions with practices.
  • Support practices with development of robust marketing and business development plans, advise on activity and ROI.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • The ideal candidate must have minimum 5 years of experience working in a similar capacity.
  • The ideal candidate must be fluent in French and English.
  • The ideal candidate must have advanced proficiency level with MS Dynamics CRM.
  • The ideal candidate must have previous experience utilizing and maximizing benefits of digital marketing channels.
  • Must have business acumen, excellent client service skills, and a consultative mindset.
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have cultural awareness with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders in multiple countries.
  • Must have the ability to establish trust with key stakeholders.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

  • Marketing, business development, or sales-support experience in professional services
