Title: Paid Media Specialist (Search + Shopping)
Reports to: Paid Media Manager
Location: Remote
Overview of Role
We're looking for a Paid Media Specialist to own the day-to-day execution of our Search, Shopping, and Performance Max (PMax) campaigns across Google and Microsoft Ads. This role is hands-on and execution-focused, with a strong emphasis on account health, performance monitoring, and continuous data-driven optimization & testing. As our Paid Media Specialist, you will be involved in every aspect of campaign management, from strategy development & planning to execution & reporting. You will work closely with the Paid Media Manager to help shape channel strategies & priorities and execute those strategies across Google & Microsoft. If you enjoy being close to data and understanding what it means, have a deep understanding of the mechanics of Search and Shopping, and want clear ownership over performance, then this role is perfect for you
Primary Responsibilities
Execution of Campaign Strategy & Optimizations
- Own the day-to-day management of Search & Shopping campaigns across Google and Microsoft Ads.
- Execute ongoing account optimizations, including (but not limited to) search term mining & negative keyword management, keyword expansion, bid and budget optimizations, Shopping product optimizations, and ad/asset/creative refreshes & testing.
- Support sitewide discount messaging across Search and Shopping channels.
- Own the creation/builds of new campaigns and ensure proper campaign structures for optimal performance and scalability.
- Maintain strong account hygiene through regular QAs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. analytics, creative, merchandising, etc.) as needed.
Reporting
- Translate campaign data into clear, actionable insights. Share weekly, monthly, and ad hoc performance updates & insights with Paid Media Team & leadership.
- Track and report on channel effectiveness & identify optimization opportunities.
- Proactively identify & address ad account issues, such as spend anomalies, performance drops, and disapprovals.
- Track emerging trends (keywords, competitors, industry, etc.) in the paid space to identify areas of opportunity.
Testing & Experimentation
- Identify opportunities to test and improve performance based on data, observed trends, and new ad platform capabilities.
- Propose test ideas with clear hypotheses, success metrics, and expected impact.
- Execute approved tests, monitor results & document learnings, and make recommendations based on observations.
Who You Are
- A strong communicator & collaborator. You work effectively with cross-functional teams, from individual contributors to leadership.
- Strong analytical thinker with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights, recommendations, and action.
- An autonomous self-starter. You take initiative independently and enjoy taking on new projects.
- Results-oriented and data-driven. You love to set goals and crush them.
- Detail-oriented, but you don't lose sight of the bigger picture. You're organized, meticulous, and thorough, but understand how your channels fit into the overall marketing strategy.
- Flexible & able to pivot when necessary. You're comfortable working with changing priorities & evolving responsibilities, and you have the confidence to flourish in a rapidly growing company.
- Naturally curious & interested in the marketing industry. You stay current on paid media trends, platform updates, and new features, and apply that knowledge thoughtfully.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience managing paid Search and/or Shopping campaigns. Agency experience a plus.
- Experience in the Google Ads platform a requirement, Microsoft Ads a plus.
- Experience working in Google Merchant Center a plus.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Experience with product feeds or feed management tools a plus.
- Experience managing paid strategy for e-commerce & B2B a plus.
- Experience managing budgets of $100k/month.
- Experience with external reporting tools a plus (e.g. Looker, Looker Studio, GA4, Supermetrics, Tableau, etc.)
