Our client is a prominent international consulting firm specialising in economic and financial analysis. They are seeking an Economist to join the International Arbitration team in Paris. In this role, you will work alongside experienced professionals to deliver high-quality valuations and financial analyses that inform expert testimony in arbitration and litigation cases. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on analytical problem-solving, financial modelling, and translating economic insights into practical, defensible conclusions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define key issues within each workstream and develop robust analytical approaches in collaboration with senior experts
- Design and execute analyses that align with the strategic objectives of each case, while critically evaluating results
- Manage day-to-day project delivery and maintain ongoing communication with clients
- Draft clear, well-structured reports and submissions with minimal supervision
- Contribute actively to client meetings and conference calls.
- Mentor and oversee the work of junior team members, ensuring quality and professional development
- Engage in thought leadership initiatives and internal knowledge-sharing activities
Key Skills
- Proven experience in financial or economic analysis, ideally involving valuations, damages assessments, or financial modelling within disputes or arbitration
- Background in consulting, investment management, or corporate finance is highly regarded
- Fluency in French and English required; additional languages an advantage
- Strong grasp of economic, financial, and accounting principles underpinning valuation and damages work
- Experience contributing to expert reports and supporting experts in hearings or dispute settings
- Proven ability to mentor junior colleagues and manage workflow effectively
- Excellent analytical and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Willingness to undertake occasional short-term travel
