Role
Overview
As a PreSales Consultant, you are the technical backbone of the sales process
and the key link between customer needs and our IT solutions. You support
strategic customers from discovery to validation, shaping solution designs that
drive business success. By translating complex requirements into clear,
practical outcomes, you empower decision-making and demonstrate value through
tailored demos and workshops. In close collaboration with Sales, Product
Management, and IT Operations, you act as a Trusted Advisor, credible,
solution-driven, and customer-focused.

- Escort the sales team in winning new business by providing deep technical expertise, strategic guidance, and competitive solution designs throughout the entire sales cycle.
- Translating industry standards and complex business processes into clear, actionable solutions, always aligned with Retarus' secure, scalable, and future-proof communication services.
- Designing and validating solution architectures and integration concepts, including effort estimations, to ensure technically sound and customer-focused offers.
- Driving and managing pre-sales projects from early discovery through to signed contracts, ensuring progress, alignment, and measurable customer value.
- Leading and participating in presales meetings, demos, and workshops with tailored messaging for diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Building trusted advisor relationships by combining technical expertise with an engaging, persuasive approach that earns confidence and supports strategic customer goals.
- Collaborating closely with Sales, Product Management, Technical Departments, and customer stakeholders to position the Retarus portfolio effectively and contribute to high-quality, customer-aligned proposals.
- Successfully completed apprenticeship or a degree in computer science, IT security, or a related technical field
- Professional experience in a comparable position, ideally in a vendor or reseller environment focusing on email security or infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, SMTP protocol, TLS encryption, antispam, antiphishing features and with authentication mechanisms (SPF, DKIM, DMARC). Secure email technologies such as S/MIME and PGP is a plus
- Hands-on experience with selling email security services and understanding of mail gateways, MTA configuration, and incident response in enterprise environments
- Ability to understand client architectures and map business needs to secure email solutions, particularly in regulated sectors (industry, banking, and professional services)
- Business-fluent French and English for effective communication in international environments
