A fast-growing
enterprise cybersecurity company
is hiring a
Head of Product
to define and lead the product vision for its flagship enterprise platform. Built on top of a widely adopted open-source security tool with millions of installs, this platform is trusted by thousands of security professionals to prevent secrets, credentials, and sensitive data from leaking into developer tools and workflows.

This role is ideal for a
security practitioner turned product leader
—someone who combines deep technical credibility with strong product craft and the ability to translate real-world security problems into elegant, scalable solutions.

The Opportunity

As Head of Product, you'll own the
product vision, strategy, and execution
for a mission-critical enterprise security platform used by modern engineering and security teams. You'll work alongside a deeply technical leadership team with strong product instincts and a bias toward craftsmanship, clarity, and outcomes.

This is a
hands-on, play-coach role
. You'll start as the most senior product leader and help build the product function from the ground up—setting foundations, defining processes, and hiring as the team grows.

What You'll Own

Product Vision & Strategy

  • Define and evolve the long-term vision for the enterprise product
  • Establish clear product narratives that articulate why the product exists and where it's going
  • Ensure the roadmap is grounded in real customer workflows and security use cases

Customer & Problem Discovery

  • Engage directly with customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders to identify high-impact problems
  • Translate research and feedback into cohesive product stories and intuitive user journeys
  • Serve as the internal champion for the customer across all roadmap decisions

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Align engineering, design, and go-to-market teams through clear storytelling and shared context
  • Turn strategy into execution by creating clarity, focus, and momentum across teams
  • Partner closely with technical leaders who value strong product thinking

Product Function Build-Out

  • Establish foundational product management processes and operating rhythms
  • Hire, mentor, and develop Product Managers as the team scales (expected growth to 2–3 PMs)
  • Evolve from IC to formal people leader as the organization grows

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience leading product strategy or technical teams
  • Strong security engineering background (application, infrastructure, or cloud security) with a successful transition into product leadership
  • Experience scaling products from strong product–market fit to repeatable go-to-market fit
  • Ability to operate comfortably at both strategic and tactical levels (UX, workflows, technical tradeoffs)
  • Proven cross-functional leader who can align engineers, designers, and customer-facing teams
  • Clear, compelling communicator with strong written and verbal storytelling skills
  • Prior experience building and leading product teams in startup-to-scale-up environments

Nice to have:

  • Experience in developer tools, infrastructure platforms, or security products
  • Exposure to AI-enabled features or workflows (not a heavy requirement)
  • Background at companies building products for engineers or security teams

Team & Culture

  • Company size: ~45–50 employees, growing steadily
  • Product team: currently lean, with planned growth over the next year
  • Culture values: clarity, action, craftsmanship, and resilience
  • Best fit for leaders who are decisive, hands-on, and deeply technical
  • Poor fit for candidates without real security practitioner experience

Why This Role

  • Opportunity to define product strategy for a widely trusted security platform
  • Direct influence on how modern security teams operate
  • High autonomy, executive visibility, and real ownership
  • Competitive compensation with equity upside
  • Mission-driven work focused on making the internet more security
