The ESC is currently looking for a Education programmes (certification) Project Manager for a permanent contract, CDI, as soon as possible to work at its headquarters in Sophia Antipolis, France.

Major duties and responsibilities:

The position is responsible for the end-to-end management, coordination, development, and delivery of the European Examination in Core Cardiology (EECC), in close collaboration with participating societies. This role is both complex and highly demanding, requiring strong autonomy, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, processes, and deadlines simultaneously. The successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding the academic integrity, operational excellence, and continuous evolution of the EECC.

In details:

• Lead the full development and delivery cycle of the EECC, ensuring the highest standards of integrity, quality, and operational performance.
• Act as the main liaison for participating societies and exam stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, smooth coordination, and effective support to candidates throughout the examination process.
• Oversee governance, compliance, and continuous improvement of the EECC framework to maintain alignment with international best practices in medical assessment.
• Support the strategic development and long-term sustainability of the EECC programme, working closely with the Certification & Accreditation Programmes Team Manager to drive growth, financial viability, and ongoing enhancement.

Profile :

Hard skills:

• Master's degree (Bac +5) in Project Management, Education, Business Administration, Health or Life Sciences, Communication, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in project or programme management, with proven responsibility for coordinating complex activities, multiple stakeholders, and tight timelines.
• Prior experience in scientific, educational, certification, or assessment‑related project management is highly valued.
• Experience in structured or regulated environments, with familiarity in governance, quality, or compliance processes, is considered an asset.
• Experience collaborating with volunteers, ideally within a volunteer‑driven or not‑for‑profit organisation, as well as experience in an international context, would be an advantage.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to prepare clear documentation, reports, and meeting minutes.
• Strong project management capabilities, including the coordination of complex workflows involving multiple stakeholders.
• Solid planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage concurrent activities and deliver high‑quality results within deadlines.
• Ability to manage and maintain tools and structured information systems, ensuring data accuracy, traceability, and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with standard office and collaboration tools (e.g., Excel, Smartsheet, Word, PowerPoint, Zoom), and ease in learning exam platforms.
• Basic knowledge of budget monitoring, invoicing processes, and contractual procedures.

Soft skills:

• Highly organised, autonomous, and dependable, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance across complex processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and respectfully with volunteers, societies, suppliers, and candidates.
• Ability to work transversally and collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
• Solutions‑driven mindset, with the ability to anticipate challenges, manage risks, and propose practical, effective solutions.
• Adaptable and resilient, able to navigate shifting priorities and manage workload peaks.
• Strong service and customer orientation, with a focus on delivering an excellent candidate experience and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
