Who we are

Indefi is a fast-growing strategy consulting firm that serves financial investors (private equity specialists, generalist asset managers, wealth managers, etc.). Established in 2007, we are a team of 85+ consultants with offices in Paris, Lyon, Madrid and London.

We operate through three business units (BUs): 

• Sustainability Advisory: We help our clients define their Responsible Investment strategy and operating model. We work across the value chain to support investors and portfolio companies in defining and embedding their chosen approach to ESG and sustainability impact.

• Private Equity: We help private equity firms make better investment decisions at every stage of the deal life cycle and build greater returns. We also advise on investment firm strategy and development, creating value through improved performance.

• Corporate Strategy: We conduct strategic development projects for global asset managers, including business strategy, market entry, distribution strategy, new product development, non-organic growth, and investment process enhancement.

We are looking to expand our dynamic Sustainability Advisory team, where we combine strategic insight with deep sustainability expertise to shape the future of finance.

Your mission

As a Senior Consultant within Indefi's Sustainability Advisory practice, you will contribute to high-impact assignments covering a broad range of complex sustainable finance topics for asset owners, asset managers, and portfolio companies. Typical projects include:

• Designing sustainable finance strategies (e.g., climate and biodiversity integration)

• Supporting the development and launch of impact funds

• Conducting strategic sustainability / ESG / impact due diligence on French and international SMEs

• Building sustainability roadmaps for companies and their shareholders

Projects generally last from two to four weeks and involve teams of two to five contributors. You will work under the guidance of the Sustainability Advisory Co-Heads and take on a high level of responsibility throughout the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing projects end-to-end, from kick-off to delivery, coordinating both internal teams and client stakeholders

• Leading data collection and analysis, including designing data requests and interview guides, conducting interviews with clients and market experts, and proposing appropriate analytical approaches

• Structuring reports and defining key messages to address client challenges and decision-making needs

• Producing, reviewing and quality controlling high-quality deliverables (reports, tools, frameworks)

• Developing strategic insights and recommendations, structuring hypotheses, and presenting findings to senior leadership

You will also have a chance to contribute to cross-BU projects in collaboration with our Private Equity and Corporate Strategy teams.

Beyond client work, you will play an active role in the growth and continuous improvement of the Sustainability Advisory practice by contributing to in internal initiatives and taskforces, including:

• Development and management of junior consultants: involvement in recruitment, onboarding, training, mentorship, performance feedback, and contribution to evaluation and career development process

• Business development activities: contribution to project proposals and upselling opportunities, responses to tenders, participation in client pitches, sales meetings, and professional networking events

• Thought leadership and marketing positioning: contribution to thought leadership pieces and publications, including articles, viewpoints and content for social media

Your profile

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with initial professional experience eager to take responsibilities quickly and thrive in a demanding fast-paced environment.  You have a strong interest for strategy consulting and a genuine curiosity for sustainability as applied to the corporate and financial contexts.

Required Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in strategy or management consulting, asset management, private equity, or sustainability/ESG positions

• Passion for sustainable finance and key environmental and social challenges

• Degree from a leading business or engineering school

• Excellent command and strong experience of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

• Fluent in French and English, additional European languages (e.g., German, Spanish, Italian) are a plus

• Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and ability to structure and solve complex problems

• Proven interpersonal and communication skills, including client interaction and team collaboration

• Proactive mindset, ability to take ownership quickly, and comfort working in an entrepreneurial environment

Recruitment process

Three rounds of interviews (remote and in-person) with senior consultants and the practice Co-Head, including sustainability and classic consulting case studies.
