KBR's enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract's original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 10 countries.Job SummaryThe Master Mechanic (Tracked Vehicles) is responsible for the efficient management of all personnel and resources to accomplish all mission requirements pertaining to the tracked vehicles in direct support of the tracked vehicle maintenance mission. The role is also responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, effective implementation of the quality control program, and mission compliance with all contract requirements.This position is designated as a TESA (Technical Expert Status Accreditation) role. Candidates must meet all TESA eligibility requirements as defined by the U.S. Army and applicable SOFA regulations. Final approval is subject to government review and issuance of TESA status. Employment is contingent upon successfully obtaining and maintaining TESA accreditation for the duration of the assignment. Roles and Responsibilities Maintains close coordination with the Government to ensure responsive support.Maintains awareness of all operations, projected workload, inspection results, training, Government requests, guidance, and all issues relative to safety, environmental, and personnel.Directly reports to the General Forman/Foreman and has the approval authority to accomplish all mission requirements as specified in all applicable regulations and contractual requirements. This authority includes but is not limited to performance of all functions required by the contract and related regulatory requirements: i.e., approves timecards, administers discipline in accordance with company policy and "stop work authority" if a safety or potential safety situation occurs.Directly leads mechanics responsible for preventive maintenance and fault repair of tracked vehicles, to include complex, interrelated mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and electrical systems, equipment, and components while in operation or standby condition. Utilizes specially designed testing methods and equipment such as computerized test sets, precision gauges, electronic sensors, injector test stands, engine scopes, etc., to ensure tolerance and safety factors are met.Advises mechanics of proper operation and maintenance of equipment, trains new Technical Inspectors, and further develops their skills. Monitors operation and production at job site and ensures that proper maintenance and safety procedures are followed.Performs under stressful conditions and meets short suspense dates.May be required to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.Performs other duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)Must have an Active U.S. Government issued Secret Security Clearance and maintain it for the duration of your employment on this contract. Due to this, you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for this position.Must have a bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR; An associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience.Must be educated on and have experience in tracked vehicle military combat systems, including hull and turret operations.Requires well rounded training and experience on tracked vehicles. Experience is normally acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent. Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint.Requires experience with GCSS-Army.Requires knowledge in equipment repair or equivalent experience, thorough knowledge of field services, equipment operation, and maintenance.Must have a valid Driver's License.Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.Additional RequirementsPrior Military, LOGCAP, or other contract experience in working with military equipment and environment.Knowledge of US military regulations and OEM requirements, including OSHA, ANSI regulations standards.Work under stressful circumstances and meets short suspense datesMust be free of medical restriction/limitations that prevent the performance of required duties and/or prevent the wearing and utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Must be physically capable of performing the work in conditions of extreme temperatures, low humidity, rain, and blowing sand and dustEmployee shall utilize all proper lifting procedures and practices associated with all lifting and material handling tasks that are assigned and associated with this job descriptionMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassistedMust be able to team lift-up to 100 pounds in a two-person carryUse crowbars, brooms, mops, sledgehammers and related itemsMust be able to stand, stoop, crawl and climb as necessary to perform job functions using proper techniques and PPE for extended periods to include confined spacesKBR Benefits KBR offers a selection of competitive lifestyle benefits which could include medical, dental, life insurance, AD&D, R&R, an Employee Support Program and more.
