Context & EnvironmentThe internship will be hosted inside GU team (Geostatistics and Uncertainties) in Pau. TotalEnergies has recently developped methods based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for massive and consistent interpratation of well log measurments for instance. With a previous internship supported by Exploration (summer 2025), a progam based on Python libraries has been set up to perform regional mapping (assisted with AI) for continuous variables (thickness, porosity) using well data and other potential influencing variables (seismic attributes, distance to major faults, environments of deposition). It is now envisioned to generalize this program with the help of our contractors. The objective is to propose the method to a larger number of users. The intern will be hosted during 5 months minimum within a period from April 2026 to October 2026 (to be adjusted with the intern). ActivitiesAs a Reservoir Geoscience and Statistics Engineer Intern M/F, your responsibilities will include : In collaboration with our subcontractors, generalizing the Python code (transition from 2D grids to 3D grids, application to discrete variables such as facies) and integrating it into a broader IT environment (Dataiku, as well as interfacing with Sismage, the company's geomodeling tool).Applying the methodology to data from the Tilenga field (Uganda) to demonstrate the benefits of this approach in a context where datasets evolve rapidly and mapping must be continuously adapted. Participation in software development may be considered depending on your motivation. You have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of geomodeling and strong knowledge in geosciences ? Familiarity with artificial intelligence would be an asset. Comfortable with IT tools, you have good skills for potential development in Python and WebApp. You will be involved in supporting Python code comprehension and using datasets to illustrate its relevance.
