Context & EnvironmentThe internship will be hosted inside GU team (Geostatistics and Uncertainties) in Pau. TotalEnergies has developed a webapp called FRF-geostat (Fast Reservoir Forecaster, geostatistical approach) which allows to perfom geostatistical prediction of production profiles (with 2D interpolation). Two case studies have been addressed with this technique. A new option has been developped to propose new wells location. The intern will be hosted for 5 months minimum, within a period from April 2026 to October 2026. ActivitiesAs a Geoscience and Statistics Engineer Intern M/F, your responsibilities will include : Applying this methodology to a new case (data from the Middle East).Interpolating water breakthrough profiles (Water Cut) to define the limits of the method's applicability.Testing the option that suggests the placement of new wells. If you wish, you may also develop a new feature to define the drilling sequence and the production start-up schedule for the wells (a PhD thesis will start in 2026 on this topic in 3D, but the 2D FRF case is simpler). You will work within a team of experienced professionals and alongside a mentor-coach, your future career reference point.
