As Head of Legal Compliance & Product, you will report to Mirakl's Group General Counsel and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Security, Sales, and Finance. You will manage a team of two legal counsels, define the operating model for a combined Compliance & Product practice, and embed compliance into every stage of our product lifecycle.Why this role is uniqueBespoke scope and autonomy: You will lead a team of Legal Counsels being at the forefront of Product innovation and set the standard for our Global Compliance practicesImmediate impact: You will play a pivotal role in an organization undergoing significant technological change, including AI-led innovationHorizon scanning: You will proactively anticipate regulatory and legislative change, and translate it into practical, business-friendly guardrailsGrowth potential: You will build a best-in-class practice in a fast-scaling, global environmentManagerial track: You will lead and develop a team within a global Legal departmentWhat you'll doCompliance leadershipDesign and own our global product compliance framework and roadmap, harmonizing practices and controls across jurisdictions and product linesAnticipate and operationalize upcoming global regulations and standards (e.g., EU Data Act for SaaS and data access/portability, AI-related frameworks and governance, anti-corruption requirements including extraterritorial regimes)Translate regulation into actionable, business-friendly controls, checklists, and policies that scale with product velocityEstablish and run risk-based control testing, audits, and remediation, partner with Security and Privacy on certifications and audits as applicable (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2 touchpoints)Lead third-party risk and external counsel engagement related to product and strategic compliance topicsProduct partnershipAct as the senior compliance partner to Product and Engineering: define go/no-go readiness criteria, advise on design choices, and de-risk launches without slowing innovationBuild the operating model to connect the Product and Compliance streams, ensuring clarity of ownership while maintaining tight collaborationCreate playbooks for complex domains (AI features, data flows, platform behaviors) and integrate compliance into discovery, design reviews, and release processesSupport product commercialization with clear narratives on compliance posture and differentiators for customers and prospectsGovernance, enablement, and reportingEstablish policies, templates, and training to embed compliance "by design" across teamsDefine KPIs and dashboards (e.g., control coverage, time-to-approve launches, audit findings, remediation cycle time) to drive data-informed decisionsPrepare executive reporting and provide qualitative analysis on critical topics for senior leadership and relevant employee bodies when requiredManage and mentor a growing team, develop talent and scale the functionWhat you'll need to succeed10+ years of experience in product-facing compliance, regulatory strategy, or product counsel roles within tech/SaaS, successful fintech experience is a strong plusBackground in a top-tier law firm and/or experience in an Anglo-Saxon environment, with a practical, business-oriented approachDeep understanding of EMEA regulatory landscapes relevant to SaaS platforms and marketplaces; exposure to global regimes (e.g., anti-corruption, financial services adjacent, data and AI) is highly valuedDemonstrated experience partnering with Product/Engineering to develop compliant products at paceProven management experience, with the ability to build and scale a new practice from zero-to-oneExcellent judgment, crisp written and verbal communication, and the ability to simplify complex regulatory topics for diverse audiencesFluency in English and FrenchWant to Join Us?Interview Process:A 30-minute call with one of our recruiters to discuss your background, expectations, and what Mirakl can offer in returnA 60-minute discussion with our Group General CounselTwo 45-minute STAR-format interviews to assess alignment with Mirakl's values We welcome collaborators with their diverse perspectives and experiences to power us forward.
